Yup, tough decision. When I did Popeye's Leaky Pipe scene everyone(*) asked why they were drowning in sewer sludge. But it was Oil not Water. It looked good as blue water but that is not what it is. And you can't color it black or you would not see anything.
(* "Everyone" is being used creatively here to sound like there was a lot of interest)
