Thanks for the feedback. Recording video in a dark room and trying to get all the colors to show up accurately was beyond my skill set. I stopped adjusting once I got the yellow score numbers not to show as white.
The 'blue' on the Kraken is actually a dark purple - it showed up quite bright in the video.
And the brown ship boards (when you attack/sink a ship) aren't that dark or orange - they're a nice 'woody brown'
Hopefully you'll get a ColorDMD and try it out !

Coloring certain things are easier than others.
Jack the monkey is brown, skulls are white, ships are brown, water is blue.
After that, it's a balance of what's accurate to the movie (and images on the machine) and what looks good on the ColorDMD.
We knew it would be important to be as true to the movies/franchise as possible due to how passionate POTC owners are.
I spent a lot of time Googling images to build a library to consult.

In the movie, the Kraken is grayish and slimy. A lot like most of the crew and Davy Jones and his 'beard of tentacles'.
I felt a ColorDMD with a bunch of gray characters would be a waste of color pixels and POTC owners would be disappointed in the end product.

That being said, I tried not to add color for the sake of "just adding color" either.

Install your ColorDMD so you're ready to download the ROM Friday. I think it looks better in the machine than any of the video or screen shots.
Only have to wait a little longer to see it in action and fight Davy Jones !

Looks great. I like the warm white on your ship - mine is green . Might have to change that after a much needed cleaning I have planned. That's when I'll put the new speaker panel and speaker LEDs/acrylics in also. It's a great game!

I agree on the white vs green. Plus I think white will let the 'cannon LEDs' show up better.
Like I said, mine is scheduled for a much needed cleaning and some different LEDs.

I'm not the gatekeeper on when the ROM is on the site - I'll post something here when it's available.

If you like the key - wait till you see the other pirates.
