#479 4 years ago

Looks like shopped pricing for non-shopped on several...

#492 4 years ago

Well, since it is "years" later...maybe his sources have raised their prices. Driving all around dragging 10 pins with you can't be cheap and sounds like a lot of work. If you are willing to wait or have 1 shipped seems like you could get those titles for similar prices--not sure about fully shopped. Supply and demand...if they are on CL for 3 months maybe the price will drop...

Quoted from ryanwanger:

I know Mirage Games feels they are being treated unfairly on Craigslist, but if I were them, I would just wait a week before posting again. Hopefully that will break the endless cycle of flagging.

LOL...that CL fighting is embarrassing. Sounds like their games are a bit trashed and overpriced though. It's a free country and a free market so not sure why it bugs people that they try to sell them that way.

#587 4 years ago
Quoted from HighNoon:

I wouldn't say the games in general at Mirage were trashed.

I am going on hearsay, I'll take your word for it if you've been there. Wonder why their games aren't selling though? Seems like the same list for months.

#588 4 years ago
Quoted from ryanwanger:

and list as "for sale by owner"

That would be a bit bogus since they sound more like a dealer. As a casual pinball person I just think all the CL battle threads just make pinball people sound/look like headcases.

Apparently didn't sell...it's up on CL for $1200. Pretty good deal for somebody that really wants an NBA. Probably worth it in parts alone.

I was ready to buy for $1000 and they wanted to wait until the end of moving sale, said they had a $1500 offer at least.

That's interesting. I played a few of theirs (the one's that actually worked) at RMPS--wow were they filthy. Not to pile on and slam the place but white rubbers were literally black. He'd sell those if he shopped them properly, instead it seems like the prices are for clean/shopped when the actual condition is the opposite...like they are just sort of throwing them out their and hoping for the best.

I think 31 is the # of days it took him to find the games...the available games are in the ad. His games are routed, unshopped, he bargains a little on price and will hold a game with a paypal deposit usually. Trustworthy but prices aren't great...then again, if you have to drive to CA for 31 days you'd expect to have a bit of a markup. Starting my search for first pinball machine.

Data East Checkpoint for $1500 from Mike (pikes peak pinball) denver.craigslist.org link

Game will be working 100% if you buy from him. He might give a little on price too.

#1314 3 years ago
Quoted from jalpert:

The DM would be a much better buy for a beginner.

DM is $2500, could probably get that Checkpoint for $1200-1300 just to get your feet wet without dropping $2500 right out of the gates. DM should be twice the game since it's twice the price though so probably would have more longevity obviously...or not, opinions on pinball are highly individualized...

#1318 3 years ago
Quoted from RabidBunny:

fixing a pinball machine will be a bit more difficult.

If you get a solid working machine from a trusted seller, very minor items are likely to be all that goes wrong. A NIB may actually need several tweaks--sometimes more(!) than a good used one(plus you'll have the new car syndrome where you lose 500-1000 bucks when you bring home a NIB).

#1327 3 years ago
Quoted from RabidBunny:

Agreed---You are already dropping 8k...what's a few hundred more? Pinball as an "investment" is a loser, so just pay the tax. I think GE has a "white glove" option as well...right in to the house with setup. Save your back.

"Taxes are the price of a civilized society."

PS Mention Pinside and you'll get the rock bottom pricing at GE as well

Quoted from yuriijos:

A few hundred dollars in my pocket

true...but that on an 8k machine, supporting a local pinball business--not many of those in the entire country, and providing the money that is used to run police/fire/roads/schools etc. If you are spending 8k on a toy...that few hundred shouldn't hurt or you shouldn't be buying.

it's a bit of an oddball and the mpf is a pita if you have to fix it but the game is really fun.

Can we all chip in and buy the "one owner King Kool" and then have a sledgehammer party? Also, somebody tell the lady with the massive junk sale and the dude selling tractors to take "pinball" out of their 2 dozen daily posts.

#1523 3 years ago

I messaged him about it this morning but haven't heard anything back...

#1529 3 years ago
Quoted from outcida:

All prices will be whatever is listed in 2016 Mr. Pinball Price guide +$200 for handling.

That's too bad they aren't local. I was hoping for an EM project machine. $200 handling on a $200 EM is not worth it...guess I could buy 2 but not at full Mr Pinball price(if they are not working!).

PS: Mr Pinball is priced for a "VGC, shopped game"....the listing says "May or Not work. Recommend for Collectors and Techs Only!!!!"

Still would like to see the list, probably for entertainment purposes only.

Probably water-logged barn storage parts machines...buying site unseen from out of state

Quoted from VacFink:

Looks like this was updated with pictures. Some interesting projects

I asked about a couple,1 was "gone", the other he said he could get pictures but "i not bring anything back to denver except items for my own collection"...so, not sure what that means

#1552 3 years ago
Quoted from Baiter:

90's B/W pricing on CL lately has been stunning... I realize some of these are advertised as CC, but asking prices seem to have have jumped up a bit for this group
White Water: $6000
Twilight Zone: $6900
Scared Stiff: $7000 and $7600
CFTBL: $5500 and $4495
Monster Bash: $9500

but they have LED's...so

#1555 3 years ago

Any not in the pics? You can send it my way. Thanks

#1560 3 years ago

Yeah, the bulk of that list is made up of really average multi-player EM's...priced at full shopped prices...and some look rough.

#1567 3 years ago

Those are the best deals!

#1574 3 years ago
Quoted from Aladdin:

Am I seeing this right, Roller Auction just sold an EM for $2,000?!?

True:
1976 Williams 'SPACE MISSION' Arcade Pinball Machine, Electro-Mechanical 4 Player with Coin Door and Back Box Keys
Notes: Due to the age of the game, some adjustments may be required after the units have been moved. Units differ in size and working condition, please inspect thoroughly and plan accordingly for removal of Items.

45 Bids $1,950.00

I bid $300 on that game and I thought it was plenty. That's insane. The game is worth $600. Auction people losing it.

#1575 3 years ago

Someone also paid $1500 for an upright Pac-Man which is pretty high.

#1577 3 years ago
Quoted from jalpert:

doesn't mean it sold.

What exactly would it mean? You talking shill bids?

#1580 3 years ago
Quoted from fosaisu:

rookie shill bidder at work?

Their stuff seems to go for around retail from what I've seen so this one seems a bit odd. Maybe some nuts went at it...auctions are weird. I fail to see any logic to them elevating 1 random old EM...just doesn't pass the smell test.

#1582 3 years ago

Just missing out on how the auction house profits from fake "winning" bids...doesn't make sense.

games Wolfman's selling

I picked up a 1968 Bally World Cup Soccer arcade--great shape...he has the 2nd one listed on CL now for more than I paid. Suppose my discount was for helping unload 20 other games from his trailer to get to mine! The rest of the EM's looked a bit rough and average titles. The couple that were interesting ended up having incorrect cabinet paint.

Just starting to get the Soccer game running--really fun game if anyone is in the market...I'd grab the other one just to have if I had extra room. Those games are hard to find. There are some youtube vids showing game play. Sort of like an EM Super Chexx.

Quoted from Wyopinball:

Ok so how do you get a current list of pins for sale through Mirage, I am asking since I missed the Fishtales, I don't want to miss another of the three machines I am hunting.

I haven't bought from him before but checked out all his games at last years RMPS. Most, if not all, were in need of a full shop job. Really really dirty, as in black rubbers that are supposed to be white, some games dead. Maybe some others have a more recent experience and I'm way off. Just FYI since those prices are full shopped typically.

don't want to waste my time if these things are complete junk.

he has a FB page with pictures of everything. I've seen most of the stuff and bought an arcade game. There were some decent EM titles but most had repainted cabs which killed it for me at the price he was asking. Everything will need a shop job and possibly repair. The gun games etc. looked to be in nice original condition but no idea on functionality.

A quick blurb is not to be used to post "top tier" games for sale in regional threads--this would include games in the $3k range and above.

Next spring I'm going to be looking for some "top tier" games to go in my new basement...

#1753 2 years ago

This sounds like it is meant to deter people from saying "I'll be looking for some top tier games in the spring, PM me"...like AFM, wh20
