At Tilt (Louisville) we use 4 games per night as well. This is our 14th season with that format. Every Wed at 7:30 (7:15 check in). No cost for league other than game play and food / beverage. It usually takes about 2 hours (7:30 to 9:30) for the groups (about 9 groups x 4 per group = 30+ people). With that many, the groups do not play the same machines each night. Each week you are only competing against the 4 in your group. Each week you are reseeded and you move up or down the ladder based on how many points you get. We do 9 points for 1st, 7 for second, 5 for 3rd, and 4 for 4th. So 36 is max and 16 min (with score divided by 4). In any given night, we might use 18 of the 20 machines out for league. Even with 4 games, if the better groups get on LOTR, Iron Maiden, etc. it can make for a long night.

Kim,

I just sent you information for Jim Francis at One Note Jukebox. He does the weekly maintenance at Tilt.

#3789 4 years ago

Tilt will be getting two new Limited Edition machines this week: Monster Bash LE and Black Knight, Sword of Rage LE. We also recently added POTC CE and Pong. Come check them out!

This also means I need to sell a machine, so if you are looking for something let me know: Currently listed on CL: Champion Pub, Kiss Premium, Viking, Monte Carlo (4 player EM), but feel free to make an offer on any machine in the arcade (the full list on inside map). I also have a Johhny Mnuemonic that I just tore down (rubbers, Comet LEDS, cleaned, etc.) and rebuilt the flippers, a Charlie's Angels, and a HUO Metallica.

Quoted from cleanandlevel:

I'll be visiting my sister in Denver from time to time, where is a nice place to play pinball? don't care about how many machines there are, just looking for clean and level pins.
look forward to scooping some machines for her husband and kids from yall some day soon!

I own Tilt pinball in Lousiville. Currently closed to the public, but you can rent the arcade. Have about 20 pins. And they are level.

#4893 3 years ago

For 2021 hoping for “normalcy” and be able to reopen to the public. And agree that I hope business explodes to make up for the losses of 2020.

2 weeks later
#4931 3 years ago

Tilt has reopened this weekend at Friday / Saturday 4pm - 10pm and Sunday 4pm - 9pm. There are also opportunities to rent the arcade privately prior to open or other days during the weeks.

#4942 3 years ago
Quoted from Waldo:

Well last night the wife talked me off the cliff. She actually said she was kinda attached to a lot of the machines and could see I was pretty sad to be selling them so we made the decision to cart them across the country with us. Will make the move tougher but maybe feel like we have a small part of home with us. Now to find a place in FL for them. No basements!
Sorry to the interested folks that looked at making buying the collection work. Sorry for the head fake. Selling what I thought would be my retirement dream home has been tough. A lot of work went into doing it up right. We might sell one or two titles but unsure at this point.
Offer to come play or see Flynn’s arcade still stands.

I think you made the right choice! So many great games. To bad you can't transport your arcade "as is" . . . It is beautiful!

Quoted from Dr_Gonzo:

Hi all, after wanting an AFM for about 20 years I'm finally ready to find one. I've been really on the fence about the original or the remake. After reading a lot of opinions I think I want to go with an original. Anyone have one for sale? Also, I'd love to hear from the group here about the way I'm leaning. The biggest pro to me with the remake is the oversized DMD, and of course the topper on the LE looks awesome. However, the list of cons is longer. Possibly doesn't shoot exactly the same as the original, parts availability, and playfield issues. My biggest worry would be that Chicago Gaming is gone in a year or two and if the board set fails I could be screwed. Not sure what the system is called but I think I'd prefer WPC.
Thoughts? Which would you pick and why?
Marshall

You are welcome to come play the remake at Tilt pinball in Louisville. We have the SE version and also the Med Madness remake. We had to sell our Monster Bash LE to help pay some bills during COVID. These have held up really well in the arcade environment and people love playing them. Really minimal service and quality issues compared to some other manufacturers. If you can get an LE or even SE, I would highly recommend that over the the standard for the extra bling. I have not spent a lot of time on the originals, but being 25 years old, I think you would expect more maintenance.

#4991 3 years ago
Quoted from Dr_Gonzo:

Visited Tilt for the first time yesterday and had a great time. Lots of fun games and was able to meet Mark and talk pinball. AFM SE is a real looker, the oversized DMD was more impressive in person than in pics. I hadn't even finished my first game before I felt something is off. It just doesn't feel the same as the original. It seemed more clunky than smooth. I had quite a few airballs that were either of the SOL cliffy or the edge of the cow ramp. Never seen that before. The orbits seemed inconsistent, almost loose? Not sure how to describe it but the ball seemed to come out at different angles even on solid shots going in. I see now why there's so much debate on if it plays the same. It's definitely still a very nice game but I don't think it's for me.
Anyone got an original for sale?

Thanks for visiting. Sorry it didn’t feel smooth. I have not played in awhile, but always played well. Did you get to try Stranger Things Le? A very similar layout.

#5012 3 years ago
Quoted from killerrobots:

You too. You have a great game collection. With TZ my game room is officially full. When I set up the room I thought I might get four in there. Now I have seven. I am starting to think about putting games in a second room. That probably indicates a problem.

I have moved some to a second and then a third room. I even thought of adding some to the bedroom . . . The first step is admitting you have a problem . . . so don't do it (admit you have a problem)

For those that have not been Tilt in awhile we now have two Collectors Edition games (Pirates and Wonka), 6 limited edition games (some came from Endo), 3 premiums, two remakes, a few other classics . . . A number of these also have the toppers. A great way to test drive high end versions of these games.

Currently we are open reduced hours opening at 4pm Friday, Saturday, Sunday with private bookings available. Bring your own quarters or get tokens at the bar with your favorite beverage and some fresh pizza.

Looking to try Led Zeppelin before deciding whether to buy...doesn't seem to be a single one on location in the whole state of Colorado, at least according to the Pin Map. Anyone got any leads?

The pro feels pretty barren without the Electric Magic. Premium / LE is much more satisfying. Feel free to message me. But think you can try the pro at Pinball Pub or Game Exchange as others have suggested.

Quoted from Timfenske11:

You should sell the CE Pirates and retire...... prices are out of control!

That they are! Maybe move to the Caribbean . . . But, I was retired before . . . The arcade is more of a hobby . . .

Mando LE coming to Tilt this week (hopefully tomorrow). "This is the way . . . " After playing a few pros around town, excited to see the differences in the Limited Edition.

We will also be starting our next season of league in two weeks. We regularly have 30+ players of varying skill levels, but use a ladder, so that players are competing against players of similar skill most weeks. PM me if you are interested. Greg

Quoted from cleanandlevel:

greetings all!
was wondering if anyone knows anyone in the Denver area that makes house calls for pinball machines by chance?
thanks

Jim Francis One Note Jukebox does work at Tilt and also makes house calls. He does arcades and pinball work. He is typically out a few weeks. [email protected] (303) 567-9999

Per above Mark Gibson does excellent EM work and a wealth of knowledge.

#5367 2 years ago

Mando LEs are on the floor . . . They will be in action for league tonight.

#5381 2 years ago

Ditto I know the seller in Estes and know someone else who purchased one of the games (dead pool) . . . He works a busy schedule, so may not get back to right away

Tilt just added Led Zep LE. We also have two (2) Mando LEs. Of our 20+ Pinball machines 10 are CE or LE, plus a few premiums. We also have some classics like Twlight Zone, Addams Family, Diner, Whirlwind, among others. We have a full bar and offer food from Shopey's pizza. Put your tokens on your bar tab or bring your own quarters.

New League (Season 22) start Wednesday at 7:00pm. No cost for league, just show up by 6:45 each week to be included in a group. Last season we had over 60 people compete and averaged about 35 each week. It is a casual league, but we use a ladder so that you will generally be playing with players of your skill level.

Also how about Windfall? Ok for minors?
Any other great pinball spots for under 21?
Lyons
Pinball Jones
Prefer more Denver urban we are looking to play POC and Halloween if there is one around
Thanks

Tilt is open to under 21 and we have over 20 pins including many LEs and CEs. Louisville is not to far from Denver. We have a pirates Collectors edition.

Anyone here repairing pins for others? A guy who lives in the Parker area needs his Gottlieb Sweet Hearts brought back to life.

They should take Mark Gibson’s EM class. Such a great class and certainly learn a lot of great skills. I also know a great tech if he wants to pay someone he can message me.

Windall Brewing in the Orchard is already offering $5 pints and $0.50 pinball on Thursdays. I will be starting a new league starting on Thursday March 23rd at 7pm. There will be mini tournaments the next two Thursdays (tonight Mar 9th and next week Mar 16th) for people to get to know the games and players. Both the league and tournaments will be free to join. Easy Money Erik always has some nice prizes too!

Windfall offers perhaps the largest public collection of LE and CE pinballs, at 14694 Orchard Parkway, Suite 400, Westminster, CO 80023. So with cheap pinball and beer and some friendly pinball competition, why not come join in the fun?

Message me with any questions or to be added to the e-mail list. Cheers, Greg

It is throwback Thursday Thursday at Windfall with $0.50 pinball and $5 pints. League will start next Thursday (23rd), but tonight I will run another free mini tournament tonight at 7pm. Last week we had 19. Please pm if you want to get on the e-mail list for league.

Also some exciting news as the JAMES BOND 007 - 60th Super Dooper LE by Keith Elwin will be on the floor starting today. This was limited to 500 machines and $20K price tag, so don't expect to see many in the wild. While it will not be $0.50, rumored to be $3 (don't shoot the messenger), I encouraged them to make a value play of 3 plays for $10 . . .

1 week later
#6637 1 year ago
Quoted from DNO:

Ummmmm,…. I’ll just stick to 1 for $3

Sorry if the joke fell flat, but I believe it 5 plays for $10. It should come down over time, but the operator did pay $20K for the game and there are very few in the wild. Most of the games are set to $0.50 on Thursday and $5 pints.

I will be running another tournament, rather than a league, but expect to have more than 20 again tonight.

Door prizes - a sweet Foo translite and a Foo banner(this banner is awesome!), Grand Champion plaque for highest score on Foo.

I'll be making cookies, but they'll go fast, sooo......

I just listed a bunch of games on Craigslist and Facebook, but will happily donate to pinside if you let me know you saw it through this post.

Donkey Kong Arcade
Judge Dredd - HUO or refurbished
Dialed In LE - HUO (2nd owner)
Roller Coaster Tycoon - HUO(2nd owner)
Houdini - HUO (1st owner)
Road Show

Also would consider my Jurassic Park 30th and Godzilla premium, but they are not really priced to move.

Windfall has added Insider Connected and has some tough to find games like Bond 60th and Black Knight LE with topper. The Rush LE also has a topper and 4 of IC achievements require a game with a topper, so nice to find those three in the wild.

I’ve noticed there are no Aerosmiths on location in all of Colorado with IC turned on. Hint, hint to the operators out there . . .

Windfall brewing just got a Pulp Fiction, with a sweet Royal with Cheese powder coating. They are also adding Munsters today, which will bring their Stern Insider Connected games us to an amazing 18. If you want to play a bunch of LEs with Toppers including some JJP CEs, this is a great place to go. Great food and beer too!

I also had the chance to visit CO bar in Frisco this week. A nice selection of well maintained games. If you are in the mountains, I recommend stopping in to flip a few.
