That would be 5 more than when they did Rollercoaster Tycoon.

Awww.

All in fun my friend. I think all the games are great and the colordmd just makes them all better.

Color makes every game better!

I'll be putting one in my Waterworld when I get a chance

Gladiators will not be the last, if I can work on it. (assuming Gottlieb is supported)

So many video modes it will take you forever.

You mean 30 minutes. Eric is super fast at coloring games.

And to think. I always thought you guys colored by numbers?

That's how I do it - They just happen to be random numbers

Quoted from epthegeek:

Probably just an incomplete capture/color job by whoever worked on that title. Coloring the service menu is a deep rabbit hole I don't even bother with on the titles I do usually.

Ya, I did that on Monopoly and won't do that again. Yuck!

Random things ..
Kiss does have some real video footage in it.
Dave Timmer is awesome and does great work.
Mustang has a few sequences that are a lot harder to do than you would expect.
I'm going to do another game that will disappoint people. Deal with it.

Haha, I'm only awesome because I know Eric and his amazing coloring.

And like Eric, I'm doing games that aren't so popular.

Has anyone downloaded and installed the croma files for Maverick yet?
The reason I’m asking is I’m having a few issues with mine and trying to figure it out.
In general the new display looks great, but there are a handful of frames that are yellow and not colorized.
Also a couple glitchy frames like “discard” in black jack where the word is rendered in two colors. Some frames are fine, while others have issues.
I’ve had this issue in the past with other machines where I had a bad download and had to reinstall the file.
I’ve downloaded and reinstalled twice now and getting the same result though.
Is anyone else having this problem, Possible Bad upload?
Or another issue with my machine I’m not thinking of?
Thanks in advance.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Hey Coindork!

Looks like a game rom version issue. I've never seen the Dataeast logo in my game and since this is a sega game that leads me to believe you are on an older rom version. PM sent!

Quoted from Coindork:

Sorry, let me clarify that.
When stating the menue is in yellow, that’s for the game itself.
The display menu the DMD is what looks to me like red (might be orange though) and is set to BGR. We went through the different settings last night befor I posted initially. RGB and RBG look totally wrong color wise and display in blues.
Just double checked this and the other settings look totally wrong.
BGR has it about 95% + the correct colors, it’s just certain frames that are not colorized.
I’m thinking early code is my issue at this point (unless I’m missing something). My guess would be that a lot changed in the Data East/SEGA merger.

Yeah, its a rom version issue. The title screen is missing the copyright stuff so thats why its uncolored among other things.

As mentioned many times before, Kiss is a tough one due to the concert video sequences. The problem is finding the video footage. The exact! video footage. Hand coloring frames is NOT fun. I had to do a few in Game of thrones where Stern made some custom videos using bits of several clips. Blah.

The rest doesn't look too bad really.(That's going to haunt me I know it) Randy has been updating the colorDMD tool box for coloring and the editor can handle more dynamic scenes with some puzzle solving. I see some digital rendered stuff as well as I watch videos of game play. Doable, but time consuming.

If someone loaned me a machine AND had all the video source material I'd probably color it. I do like challenges.

Please don't forget you will need to remove the red tint/paint on the speaker panel to make this work!

As shown in post #4912.
Thank you for colorizing this one!! Looking forward to seeing it in action. We will have at least one Stargate at the Houston Arcade Expo!

You better get your game running!!

Quoted from TopMoose:

I suspect they’re a lot easier to colorize. Many have simpler animations and fewer graphics in general.

As the guy who colored Stargate and wipeout, I'm going to disagree with the easier part

New methods and tools were developed to tackle some of the problems. Wipeout took me forever as I had to hand color all the video frames in that one.

Thank you for the clarification. You did great work!

Thanks!

Quoted from littlecammi:

Sounds like a whole lot of work. That must have wiped you out.

Haha, Indeed!

I think everyone gave up? No news for a long time. I guess anyone who knows how to color these games isn't passionate enough about the remaining uncolored titles to bother with them.

I'm still passionate about it

Quoted from crujones4life:

I know personally you did a lot of work on Maverick! I know you have worked on several other games as well. We appreciate it!

And I appreciated the help in tracking down those missed frames in Maverick!!
