Already ordered mine! Can't wait to install it!
Anyone know how long it takes for the ROM to be available on their site? Wait if im reading the announcement correctly it should be April 2nd?
Got mine in though I’m not sure where to tap the 12 V. I tapped the front of the cabinet short term as I was uncomfortable tap paint into what appears to be 120 V behind the power supply. I have no CN6 on Kiss that I could easily find.

Just keep hitting refresh! Or be patient and wait until the 6th.
Very happy for all you Kiss owners!
Quoted from volkdrive:I've had a color unit running for years in Kiss just in white, can't wait!
Ditto!!
Another alternative if you have a 3d printer, I made this spacer for all VE and Spike games.

This is a great option….foam gaskets deteriorate over time. I may get the actual gasket but get one printed too as it will probably never need replacing unless the plastic gets brittle…won’t happen in my lifetime most likely. Thanks for sharing!

The ColorDMD gaskets aren't regular foam, they are a flame-resistant neoprene blend. Neoprene degrades a LOT slower than regular rubber or foam, which is why neoprene is often used in gaskets and hoses where long-term durability is important. The oldest installed ColorDMD neoprene blend gasket from the early testing is over 4 years old now, and aside from the indentations from the screws, still looks and feels pliable and isn't shedding like urethane or other foams might by now.
However, the one thing that is sure kryptonite for neoprene is UV rays which DO cause neoprene to break down faster, so don't keep your pinball machine in the sun if you have a ColorDMD gasket in it.

Saw me Ccd in this....think the 3d print spacer might be a great other choice, I use @pinmonks gaskets in all my games that need one.(+1 referred to post of having the display already).
Never problems w deterioration ( not in the remainder of my life Id imagine) and like the 100% light " lockout" as it forms to screen edge.
Think I'll have to clean my KISS playfield and give it the once over, in preparation of the big event..

Great info to know it’s a quality gasket and some thought/effort went into it. Thanks for sharing!

Absolutely! Nothing lasts forever but PinMonk doesn't half ass anything he sells.
Quoted from hank527:Where are people plugging in for the power on Kiss?
https://www.colordmd.com/ColorDMD%20LED%20Installation%20Instructions%20SPIKE%20Rev1.PDF
For KISS, the power comes from the coin door board. The white power source board in the backbox doesn't include a 12V regulator. That wasn't added until GOT and Ghostbusters.

Only issue is when you open the door, it kills the power. That’s how I hooked it up. Cannot wait for the ROM.

If you want an always on solution that doesn't depend on a node board being powered, you can use a 48V to 12V regulator board like this one:

I waited for GB colorDMD as well and was blown away the same when it was first revealed. The colors looks fantastic, especially the fire effects. The DMD animations on the Spike games are top quality. The ability to bring those animations alive with color is truly impressive.
Well done team.
Just wanted to say how great the customer service is with Color DMD…ordered on Saturday and arrived today…super fast and easy!!!
Ok….what am I missing new color LCD is installed. Triple checked all connections and look correct. Power game on and it boots…nothing comes up on the display. Press menu button and menu display comes up. Set it to Spike. Exit. Figured at that point I should get display from the game but I have nothing. Power down. Restart game and the game boots but nothing on the display….I loaded the Kiss firmware as well and that shows up if I go into the display menu so I pretty sure I am good on the firmware…any suggestions?

If you get no video signal at all, but the menu works - likely the DMD cable is not connected, or connected backwards.
Quoted from thundergod76:Are you sure you are saving the settings before exit?
Yes. I have saved the settings. Here is what the menu shows of this helps.

Yes. Game boots and I can start a game. Just not getting any game displays showing up.
