Make sure the file is not chroma(1).rom. It must be chroma.rom on your USB drive.
On top of this, turn on your game first. Then plug in your USB drive, and then hold the USB button down until the screen goes blank. It will take close to a minute to load the color ROM.

You need exactly as he points out. 4.1: (11/06/19) Added support for embedded DisplayPort LCD screens.
Press your menu button. Does your product key show as (blanks) ? If so, follow these instructions. http://www.colordmd.com/Support_Keys.html
You will enjoy the color in this game once you finally get it. I beta tested this one and found it to be very colorful.

Post 13 shows it made it through the programming. Final issue is the product key, as shown in post 15. I've been through this process several times before, including on my Stern IJ.
