I'm thinking about adding 3 ccls or neons to my perimeter defense flasher on my Congo.
I'm not sure which fuse this is coming off of(Flasher or Secondary Flasher).
The lights I am looking at are 12vdc/250-500ma.
Should I tap off of the flashlamp(20v)and go for it or is there another 12v source I could use?

flashlamps are 12 volt bulbs, so in theory, you should be able to run it off the flasher socket.

if you want it lit constanly, run it off an available 12 volt source in the machine.

Yeah, that's the theory. I just want to do this right before I pull too much off of this circuit.

Flashers are 12V bulbs, but if I remember right they run them at 24V (that's how you get a bright flash). It's for such a short period, it doesn't hurt the bulb. Throwing 24V through a CCL could damage it, even for a short period. Also I don't think it's going to turn on as quick as you think.

That was one of my concerns about the 20v(what I've read) being too much for ccl or neon.
As far as not turning on quick enough, the perimeter defense flasher is a little different sometimes.
It stays on for quite a bit of time...sometimes. I was worried about that kind of issue when I installed the beacon lights to my 2 way popper flasher because it strobes... but it worked perfectly.

I'm wondering if I can tap off of another 12v line and use the ground on the flasher to trigger this.
That may not be a good idea being one is 20 and one 12v. I'm going to check that line and make sure I am reading 20v on it.
I thought I read on here that someone was trying ccls as flashers.
Anyone pull this off?
