I've replaced a few coin mechs in some older games with these.

not sure about gottlieb… I'd assume it's the same thing though.
I like them because they rarely if ever jam, it's all metal and high quality. The ones that come with newer games seem to jam all the time.

Yes, that will work.

Pinball life has them for $10. Just got some for a game that was missing them.

Hi ,thanks for your reply .I will check them out.The ones I have found on the U.K web sites are the plastic type ,so I will steer clear of those, plus the dimensions of the lug spacing are different . Many thanks ,Steve.

Steve, are you thinking of using pre-decimal coinage ? Reason being is that your coin entrance plate will likely be for one coin, a 6d one. If you are going to use modern coins, say a 20p one, then you'll probably need to enlarge the slot to accept the coin.

Personally, I'd put it on free play as these early 6d coins vary so much in weight that you'll soon get fed up with inserting say, 4 coins before one works!

Hi thanks for the advise.I was going to use modern coins, probably 10 or 20 pence piece as they fit the slot which is a 6d one as you know.I just like to fiddle with things ,but probably take your advise and put it on free play.Plus another Pinside member told me that the plastic mech's jam alot .I see you have a Sweet Hearts pinball .I have always wondered what happen to my first Sweet Hearts pinball which I sold to someone in the late 80s for about £30 !!.I remember casting a play field post out of alloy in metalwork at school to replace a missing one in front of the blue pop bumper and I used Citron car bulbs which ran on 6v to replace burnt out ones.I wish I had the internet back then !!!
