Quoted from vid1900:Just swap the wires, the coil itself does not know the direction of the diode installed upon it.
But if the game was run with the wires backwards, you may have blown a driver transistor. So don't panic if the game does not instantly work correctly after the wire swap.
As you anticipated, the coil did not fire. I ran the diagnostics in automatic mode. I let it circle around a couple of times to see if everything else worked. No other issues. I changed over to manual mode. I could hear the relay clicking but the coil did not fire. It then blew the fuse again as I figured it might. The fuse is on the flipper power board and when it goes it also stops the hideout coils from working also. So it appears that this is my core problem. There is also a fuse between the kickback and the flipper board which should have blown but someone put in a 25 amp rather than a 2 1/2 amp fuse.
As I'm still kind of new to all of this, I have a couple of follow up questions. What is the possibility that the relay is blown? Where would the driver transistor be located (on the board with the fuse possibly)? How would I go about checking it?
Thanks in advance for your help.
