I'm trying to find the reference (preferably in bayareaamusement) of the spring of the divertor coil:

hmmm I don't think so, I need the big spring along the plunger, not the small one at the end.

I'm confussed... in the manual, there is no spring around the plunger !

So how the divertor "opens" (prevent the ball to go to the Path of Adventure) without this spring ?

My game also has a spring on the diverter plunger. I would try using a 10-135 spring.
