Annoying nagging problem. Original problem is that 2 coils burned up both on same switch that activates them. That turned out to be residual magnetism
in the "intermediate" relay. I added business card thick stock and that solved that problem - for a year. I also added fuses to those coils. It happened again, coils burned fuses blown. Has anyone used a thermal breaker to protect coils? Sounds crazy I know. Second question would be, does the magnetic decoupling trick wear out over time?

Sounds like your fuse didn't blow until your coil got so hot that winding shorted out, by which time it was too late. Fuses blow from amperage, and it probably won't get over the limit until the coil fails.

If it's only from residual magnetism. There are several ways to remove it. Heat it up, whack it with a hammer or use a degaussing tool
