Hi Guys - so,I am having a battle royale with my Royal Rumble....

    I now have coil problems:

Flippers don't work. When I press the button, they buzz - if I manually move them up they stay up - I believe the 8v is working but the 50v is doing nothing.
The flipper board leds are not even flickering.

Now in parallel, when I enter diagnostics - no flashers work. and when I test coils and flashers, some coils fire when flashers should fire - Mainly the corresponding L/R Coil fires when I select the flasher.

Apart from the VUK that only fires when a flasher should fire...

I changed the Q28,29,30 transistors and pre-transistors - no change

I also own a maverick and I swapped the CPU & PPB board - no change.

So I don't think this this is a problem with the boards or with the L/R coil

    anybody got any other ideas?

Next step, I am going to replace all the coil diodes - could it be a bad coil?

    Thanks a lot in advance

    Mike

Did you ever figure out whats wrong? I'm having same issues with my Tales from the Crypt. I swapped new power supply, ppb, and new rottendog flipper board and nothing. All flippers died mid game at the same time. Checked all fuses with meter and they're fine and so are the fuse clips. No burn wires. Check Cpu drivers with meter and they seemed fine as well. Bridge rectifiers also test out ok. No idea what to check next. Pops are dead and flippers are dead everything else works fine. My first pin so I'm still learning.

Damn - not an easy fix for a newbie!

Mine was the power board - the replacement was also faulty..

If the fuses are fine and you have swapped so many boards there isn’t much else to work on - if it is just the pops and flippers - I believe these are the high power coils in the game - triple check fuse f8 on the playfield power board - 4A fuse - just in case if you have one - swap it anyhow….

Have you checked the fuses on the SSFB - solid state flipper board - these are inside the cabinet not in the backboard..
