you need the correct coil. the 24-900 is way too low resistance. you'll smoke the coil and probably the driver transistor too.

i've used 26-1200 in a pinch. This same situation exists on Star Trek NG with the under playfield diverts, and 26-1200 does work. Would be better to have a 26-1500, but the resistance between the two is about 10% (acceptable.)
