I am restoring a game and one of the coil sleeves was stuck in the coil. I had to break it off in pieces and pry it out. I tried to put another one in it but it wouldn't go in. Should I replace the coil? It works but I'm not sure if hammering the coil sleeve in is the best thing to do.

Thanks for the responses. It is not a flipper coil. It's a hideout coil on a High Speed. The paper is not burned but I can see on the bottom where it looks like the winding has come loose. Very odd as theoretically it has to be over tightened someplace to be loose on the bottom. The coil and kicker worked as I checked the machine before I removed the playfield to work on it. I'm thinking when in doubt, replace.

    Quoted from vid1900:

    That's OK.
You see that on coils all the time, nothing to worry about.

So you think it's Ok to use? I just reamed it out a bit so I can get a coil sleeve in it. Dremel tools come in handy.
