Finally, the forum for me to divulge to the world what happened the night that the spirit of Ramses III contacted me through a crystal skull to warn me of that alien greys from planet Nibiru were planning to use the transdimensional warp conduit opened by the NSA's MIB in collaboration with several Sasquatch to sneak into my guest room and steal my pinball machine!

EDIT: Seriously though, I'll check it out.

I listened to your podcast today at work. Voice quality sounded very good to me. Content was interesting. I enjoy interviews and podcasts with multiple people interacting with each other. Maybe something for you to consider. Don't be afraid to go deeper into the subjects and to give your opinions. I think you are off to a good start.

    #6 10 years ago

Great job out of the gate, I look forward to your next episode. All of these podcasts are great for this time of year as I spend most of my days off outside doing yardwork or messing with the pool. Thanks for putting forth the effort as I'm sure it can't be easy!

    #7 10 years ago

Excellent work! Good to have another wrestling fan around!

    #8 10 years ago

Awesome I have a desk job, so any pinball I can listen to the better. Will check it out mon.

Really liked the breakdown of BSD. I need to get that one back, i think.

keep up the good work, looking forward to hearing about a Pinball Wizard visit.

    #20 10 years ago

Listened to all 7 episodes so far on the way to and from a pinball tournament. It sounds great. It was cool to hear about your thoughts on some of the places I have visited for tournaments like Rock Fantasy and Silverball.

Also thanks to Pinball Soul for posting about your podcast.

Resurrecting this! Got a chance to listen to a few episodes and its a great podcast. Met Nate at MGC and played a game of America's Most Haunted and talked with him very briefly (very in demand guy.) Very positive podcast that enjoys the games as well as the development side of pinball. Now I have 70 episodes to catch up on.

Kudos to Nate on his work hosting a few panels at MGC.

(rebranded page in 2022... sorry pinball peeps... maybe stick around?)

Seems weird to rebrand instead of starting something new. Trying to leverage the...(peeks at page)...1.3K existing users, I guess?

Apparently I'd subscribed previously, but I honestly can't remember what was there before. Wasn't the "Pinball with the Pros" content there? It seems a shame to have that vanish.

That sucks. The Lyman video on The Walking Dead was great. I re-watched it like a month ago.

What a dumb rebrand on an account labeled "Coast2CoastPinball"

It's his content and what not, but jeeze. I think he took something valuable away from the community to clear the way for some travel videos no one is interested in seeing.

    #31 1 year ago

I found the videos through the old website. They're marked private. Maybe he can upload them somewhere else. It's youtube... it's free. Hell, I'll do it if he just lets me download a copy.

I'm just bummed how much of his content is gone now. I think it's an important part of pinball history, especially some of his interviews. Roger Sharpe gave him some very valuable things to share with the community that aren't around now either.

    #32 1 year ago

Is any of it archived on the
    "Wayback machine" internet archive.

    Katrina?? What happened to Theresa?

Wait, the podcasts are now gone, too? The Roger Sharpe stuff was great. And even some of the less savory stuff--your JPops, Skit-Bs, etc.--made for very interesting listening and gave a good insight into the history of where we are now in the homebrew/boutique/prepay market.

I can understand wanting to move on and perhaps either not caring about maintaining old things or intentionally wanting them to shuffle off because they are overly personal. It is a very big loss for the community, though. No doubt someone (or a few someones) have old episodes lying around in their podcatchers and we'll see them surface again, but it's really amazing and kind of disturbing how a big chunk of history can just vanish.

    #35 1 year ago

Yeah, I don't have an issue if he was "done" with pinball or whatever. I get not wanting to pay bills to host old content he wasn't invested in anymore. Maybe he's worried about some off hand comment in hundreds of hours of content biting him in the ass later. Whatever the reason may be...

It just sucks that a major source of history is now gone in such an unceremonious way.

Some, but not much. At least not much that I've found.

    #37 1 year ago

Nate is a very nice guy, he interviewed me back in 2016, looks like that was episode 214. I'm not really personally sad it's apparently gone now, not like I'm ever going to listen to it (hearing my own interviews is like water torture, hard pass). But it's bizarre to wipe things and use the same channel for a travel blog.

Just goes to show, things on the internet can be ephemeral. If Robin ever decided one day to turn this into a travel forum and wiped it all think of the history we'd lose ...

Funny that you chimed in now. I just happened to pluck episode 180 from archive.org and had it on in the background and you got a shout out re: this old thread around 10 minutes in.

I was really serious about that idea, and then I got pulled into Alien instead and that killed it for me. And Scott built TNA which was essentially my vision (his own take of course, just the idea of a modern 80s solid state), and proved it was a viable concept, and that made me happy.

That was a long time ago... he was still doing pinball stuff when he and Theresa parted ways.

Interesting that he seems to have just abandoned pinball. Sucks if all that content is lost. As others have said... Great do something new... but why trash all that content you did?

Didn’t Nate work for Taylor guitars?

Wait, the podcasts are now gone, too?

Yes. Stern might have the Flippin with the Greats? I can’t remember what exactly C2CPinball called that video venture he started with Stern.

EDIT: It was Pinball with the Pros.

I did a little digging in the Wayback Machine. Short answer is the audio files aren't saved. You can go back to the URLs and see what the page looked like. Here is one example: https://web.archive.org/web/20210510073408/https://www.podcastgarden.com/episode/roger-sharpe-pinball-the-interviews-episode-1_147834

Judging from the code in the audio controls box Podcastgarden hosted the audio in an S3 bucket at Amazon Web Services (AWS) and I expect all of it is inaccessible but I'd love to be wrong.

I found a 46 minute clip labeled episode 209. I'm at the bar watching the Blazers and playing pinball, so I'm not entirely sure what is on it, but it is definitely Nate.

That’s promising. I get a ‘bucket does not exist’ error. But at least one is there for some people, bound to be more.

I found a couple on an old hard drive, and I found 15 or 20 (including the "Evening with John P." episode) at archive.org. I'd forgotten how good C2C was.

I just found and dl'd episode 227. I'm wrapped up in a pinball tournament for the next few hours but I'll keep scouring once I get home and upload to a file sharing site. This looks rather promising.

So this is Roger Sharpe and Sam Stern. Let me know if you can download this:

A short review of Nate's new show...

Watching Nate pick Pears in Holland is nowhere near as much fun as The story of Nate driving 200 miles to Bakersfield on Thanksgiving night just to buy a Roached Bride of Pinbot.

    #50 1 year ago

Nate provided us with one of the two best pinball podcasts ever created.

    Clay being the other.

I wish him all the best for his future.
