Long shot here, but were any of y’all on the old pro-rock bulletin board? If so, what are your handles/names?

#552 3 months ago

I think I was but couldn't tell you what my handle was

Pretty sure I was, I used to use piecesof8 until some other bastard stole it.

I might have used bowlscrapper420

it's almost time! The wait has been long, looking forward to exploring town and taking over the Stanley.

1UP in Denver looks neat, and Someplace Else Brewery in Arvada looks like they have a sweet collection. I hope their beer is as good as the machines look.

Well, I grabbed tickets for September 7th in DC. Four times in one year will be a personal record.

Speaking of beer, I think we're going to swing by the original Oskar Blues location as we meander from the airport to the Stanley. Clutch, Stephen King, beer... This is turning out to be an "all my favorite things" kind of trip! Not sure if I'll have time to squeeze pinball in there, though.

Yall should be sure to stop by Windfall brewery (for the awesome pins) and Lyons pinball, on the way up to Estes Park.
You wont be disappointed!

Just got back after show #1 in Richmond, and if you're a longtime fan and you have tickets on this tour you're in for a treat. Both opening bands are great (no Question Your Life Choices Hour Featuring Dinosaur Jr this time around), and no spoilers but... Let's just say I've seen Clutch MANY times and they played songs I've NEVER heard live.

Next up, Stanley Hotel!

We don't speak of they who shall not be named in this thread.

I tossed some salt over my shoulder, knocked on some wood, and gave a black cat the stink eye, so we should be good.

Also, it's not a spoiler if the band posts it on social media, right? Yes, they played that song that had almost become a running gag for people to yell the name of at shows. The crowd went bonkers.

T-minus 24 hours to lift off to the springs and the Stanley!!! 3 nights in a row is going to be insane!!! I have been watching the set list they have been doing! damn this is going to be epic!

#562 79 days ago

So you landed tickets for Colorado Springs too??

I hope the Stanley posts a "know before you go" about the shows / aftershows. The tickets don't even say what time they start.

#563 79 days ago

sure did. will tell you the story over a beer. so stanley does have times up. doors at 6, howel at 7, mojo at 7:50, Clutch at 9

Ok I'll bite.. what song?!

I was referring to Binge and Purge. I'd have told you they'd never play that song live again; now I've heard it twice!

After a delayed flight, a missed connection, an unplanned red-eye, and far too few hours of sleep my words aren't really working right, but suffice it to say that the Stanley Hotel shows were the concert experience of my lifetime. The intimate venue, the incredible performances and setlists, the cool people that I made new connections with, the awe-inspiring natural surroundings, The Shining... Damn. I'm a little bummed that it had to end, but also not sure my body could've handled it had it gone on any longer.

I have a feeling there's a couple thousand unrsold copies of transnational on vinyl sitting around they need to push.

I will concur about the shows at the Stanley. Best 2 out of 44 times I have seen them. Amazing venue, amazing crowd, amazing set lists! For sure this was a once in a lifetime experience. Glad Vern made me do it! experience

Heads up. Slow Hole to China vinyl and new merch available.

I picked up the reissue on CD, plus the forest green t-shirt. I'm a sucker for not-black t-shirts.
