Joined the club yesterday... thanks @asoa. A few things to tweak still, but my first question for the club... I there a modified rom out there for the VE that has the old SM callouts on it? I thought I read something about this... PM me if you have info.

Quoted from Arcade:

Anyone know of a source for the three little webbing plastics?
One just to the left of the ball sitting in the shooter lane. One behind Sandman and one behind Doc Oc.
No one seems to sell these.
Surely Stern has these just sitting around after the remake.
But how to obtain them?

These?

Quoted from Arcade:

Pinzap to the rescue.
In all my searching, Ebay never popped up once. lol
Thanks for the link sir.

I saw they had a 5 piece set and a 3 piece set and it seems you can order custom colors. Never purchased these, so caveat emptor... but was bored so did a quick search. Let us know how they turn out if you do end up buying.

No, but it makes it way cooler I said. "Are you sure?" she replied.

So close to being lucky....

Nice!! And i had a different kind of luck over the weekend. Original owner HUO with very few plays.

Not sure where i found this, but have it in my files from somewhere. I don’t actually have these on my VE yet, so please post a pic of your apron if you print and use these.

Quoted from GCS2000:

So we are looking Spidey as our next game. It seems the consensus is the VE is better but man the originals price on the used market is 2-3k less. Is the VE really all that over the 07 model?

I own both the original and the VE... both were single owner HUO when I acquired them and both are setup nicely. I think it does come down to personal preference with art vs callouts. I don’t think you can go wrong with either.

Quoted from monkeyboypaul:

Yes, I noticed that too.
Not sure where to find that one, or how it attaches.
It’s a routed machine, but fairly lightly it would seem.

Well, the good news is that most of those plastics are designed to prevent ball traps from happening on routed machines (and take days to get someone there to unstick the ball)... so you can leave it off it you want and enjoy a more beautiful game with only a small chance you'll have to pull the glass if a ball makes it there. I remove a lot of those plastics from my HUO games (and put them in the coinbox for later)... such as the plastic between the wings of the dragon on MMR. I just thought that a dragon flying with a hunk of plastic on his back looked terrible and very degrading to the dragon!!

Quoted from ccbiggsoo7:

ive owned spiderman for 5-6 yrs. love the game, it'll never leave. played the vault version, absolutely hated it. Callouts were horrible.

Well... this club has members who own the original and members who own the vault. In fact, some own both. The code, layout and general playability of this game puts in the top 5 pins of all time in my opinion. I love them both.

Quoted from PeterG:

well they say worldwide shipping ontheir site?

Yeah... but it’s not. We ran into the same issue for clear Tron discs a while back and a pinsider from the UK bought them and shipped to some of us in the USA. Not sure it would work well for just 1 decal.

Quoted from rai:

Hey, can someone explain the use/scoring of the side web targets and the lit behind the flipper shot?
Is the behind the flipper shot an add a ball or revive a multi ball? How is the behind the flipper light qualified etc..?

Check out the rules here... http://tiltforums.com/t/spider-man-rulesheet-wip/5622

Specifically, the spidey sense lane is qualified by hitting the standup targets. Then, the award is dependent upon what is running at the time. More details at the above link.

Quess it’s just a matter of taste and getting the correct color of blue. I love the way it turned out
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

I do love that blue. I had both the OG and the Vault SM for a while in my collection, but recently sold the OG. the blue for my vault is a bit lighter, but still basically setup to match spidey’s outfit.

Nice topper! I’ve wanted to see that one on the VE. Are you happy with it? I’ve thought about getting that one...

Absolutely. Love everything about this pin... but it did come with it from the previous user, so I didnt pick it out. Would do so if I didn’t have one though. Best imho.

Quoted from PinRob:

Just get a LCD, way more advantages with LCD

Counterpoint… I have LED in my SMVE and would never replace it with LCD. Much brighter and the colors are more vivid.

I have about half and half LCD vs LED in my 30 pin collection and can attest that both have their merits. Match the style you’re looking for. In the case of my SMVE, I was very happy with the bright vivid colors.

On my LOTR, for example, the LCD matches the darker warmer tone of the pin much better.
