Just joined the club with a mint condition second edition machine.
Made some homemade speaker lights and hooked them onto the pop bumper flashers.

Quoted from Rickwh:

I would be interested to hear of any remedies and to see any pics of original spidey pics.
I thought maybe some felt or fuzzy-side velcro stuck to the end of the ball guide to soften or slow it some or maybe direct it up the playfield a bit...

I really can't see how to soften the hit. The ball drops from a very high position even if the kick out would be at a minimum. If the ball would hit a post first and then get deflected onto the playfield might help but that is virtually impossible to achieve. I used double mylar on mine. I have an original SM and a small dimple is visible if you look for it with a flashlamp.

Modded a Spider projector light and mounted it at the back of the back box. It shines an image of Spiderman onto the ceiling when the machine gets turned on.

Did you use the car version that's on ebay?

Yes

Quoted from PeterG:

I like the idea, could you create the projection image yourself? Is that easy to print?

No it's all done for you:

I have done it with my Batman too.
In Batman I drilled a hole into the top to mount it permanently. It looks sooo good I would never ever consider removing it. In Spiderman I attached the light on a bracket on the back box so it can be removed later.

Anyone else got one of these?

No but where did you get it from. Looks great!

I can't believe nobody has made a speaker panel decal. There are very expensive replacement speaker panels, there is a decal for the vault edition ( which does not fit) but no decal fancy decal for the square speaker panel.

I never quite understood why Stern left the speaker panel boring black. I decided to make my own for Batman and Spiderman. I'm installing tomorrow. Very excited!

Quoted from PeterG:

Like that Spiddy version? I was planning to buy the VE decal but that was difficult to get.

I did buy the VE decal and it does not fit at all (speakers and dmd ). That's the main reason I did my own. I also did a Batman.
I do have some spare ones $35.

Good luck selling that machine down the line lol. Considering that most of us do not have that problem I am sure there would have been a more elegant way to solve your problem.
