Just joined the club. Idiot me didn't realize that Spidey was old enough to have incandescent bulbs. Did later runs have LEDs?
Anyways, I want to LED this thing. Already had one PS'er send me a nice PM but looking for other ideas and answers.
How did you all handle the following:
1.) Inserts. Non-ghosting LEDs required? What colors did you go with (some are obvious like red and green inserts), but natural white in the white inserts? What about Battle Royale? Purple passions? In the inserts...1 SMD? 2 SMD? etc...
2.) Above playfield lighting. There are several areas where Stern used colored 555s (green goblin, the venom and sandman mode lights on the back box, etc....). What did folks use here? Frosted? I kind of like the exposed colored incandescent look, but that's hard to achieve with LEDs (particularly yellows that are really weak).
3.) Any color changing around the GI?
Documented examples would be great even though they photograph poorly.

I used green and red purple and blue frosted under those color inserts and sunlight white frosted from comet pinball under the rest.
Also used Comet Sunlight frosted for my GI.
I do have green flashers under the Goblin area and blue flasher behind Venom.
No color changers.

Was playing last night and enjoying my new Color DMD when I noticed that the entire row of bulbs is out on my back panel of the playfield.
Took me a little bit to realize it was a bit dark in the back. Lol
One more thing on my to do list.

Forgot I posted this.
Just so others know, for once it was just a fuse. Lol
I first checked the molex plug and made sure solder on bulb bases was good.
But sure enough they have a fuse in the back box that controls nothing but this one little string of GI bulbs on the backboard.

Maybe this has been asked before but I have not seen it posted.
While going through my menu options I came across a setting for Insult Level.
It was not set to high so I changed it.
Does this even do anything on this game like it does on AC/DC?
So far I have not heard anything new.

Long shot I know, but does anyone have a spare Jameson Plastic that goes over the lock ball target?

Quoted from Fliptastic:

I've got one for you if you still need it. PM me your address and I'll mail it to you.

Huge kudos to Fliptastic for getting me my one and only missing game plastic.
Could not be happier finally having my game complete.

Quoted from rai:

This is not correct (at least on my pin), there seems to be no difference, higher number makes both music and call outs louder and vice versa.
Can anyone test their machine?

You have me curious now Rai.
I would check my game, but I loaned it out for a few months for a Tron.
Most Stern games that I have though have sound levels for Music and Speech.
They are not in the standard adjustments though, they are in the game specific adjustments section towards the end.
Strange if Spider-Man is different.

Quoted from rai:

I tried with the center post removed but put it back after a bit, I was so used to having it there. Not like I'm a great player but I'd widen the out lane and maybe try the thinner rubber on the flippers.

We keep the center post out Rai.
As well as turn off extra balls.
If we did not my son would always have a hour game on it.
Perils of living with a double state champion.

Anyone know of a source for the three little webbing plastics?
One just to the left of the ball sitting in the shooter lane. One behind Sandman and one behind Doc Oc.
No one seems to sell these.
Surely Stern has these just sitting around after the remake.
But how to obtain them?

Quoted from Pinzap:

These?
ebay.com link » Stern Spiderman Pinball Web Plastics Custom Colors

Pinzap to the rescue.
In all my searching, Ebay never popped up once. lol
Thanks for the link sir.

Quoted from Pinzap:

I saw they had a 5 piece set and a 3 piece set and it seems you can order custom colors. Never purchased these, so caveat emptor... but was bored so did a quick search. Let us know how they turn out if you do end up buying.

Just ordered the three piece set. I really just needed the shooter lane plastic but may change out the clear ones on the game for the colored.
I’ll post back when they arrive.

Check out my sweet, new topper. Hand carved by an artisan in Denmark from a single block of plastic!

I'd buy that for a dollar.

Just got my Spidey web plastics in from the EBay link above.
They are very well made and even come with screws and nylon lock nuts.
You will still need your own little L-brackets from the originals or purchase your own.
You can get any colors you like on any plastic.
I opted for red for the shooter lane and behind Doc Oc. And yellow for behind Sandman.
Also they are packaged very nicely.
I will post photos when I have time to install.

Got my missing web plastic installed by the shooter lane. Just had to punch out the rivets on the old L-brackets.
However 10 points off for the manufacturer packing in slotted screw heads. Arrrrgh, how do you even find slotted screws in this day and age?

Now for the other two plastics the brackets are welded to the ramps so I guess I would have to drill out the rivets, which is a lot of tedious work. Will probably put that off for awhile.

Quoted from Jediturtle:

Take a look at Comet's sunlight LEDs for the GI. I put them in my old SM and they looked amazing. Warmer without being as yellow as bulbs. Good stuff!

Bingo.
We use Comet sunlight for almost everything. Not to blue and not to yellow.

Joined the club 6 months ago with a 2007 version. Put in LED OCD, led lights, new ramps, webbies protectors, red flippers with blue rubber, little figures, and more. What a great game.

Nice.
Who sells the Spider-Man Eye slingshot covers?

#941 5 years ago
Quoted from Supersquid:

I made them myself. Couldn't stand looking at Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst and couldn't find any to buy that I liked.

Awesome. They look great.
All I could find were the actors and webbing.
Yours are much better

Quoted from bobukcat:

I agree completely, the callouts from J.K. Simmons are some of the best in any game ever and the custom music is spot-on for pinball. Since all the other clips are from the movie and not voice actors I can't think of much, if anything, I'd want changed.

Agree. JK Simmons makes this game awesome.
Was excited about the vault until I heard it had different sound.
