Has anyone done a red powder on their Spidey? I'm thinking on doing a powder but not too keen on a blue with that red cab.

Quess it’s just a matter of taste and getting the correct color of blue. I love the way it turned out

The slingshots were on it when I got it but they are decals on top of clear plastics, looks just like they are plastic though. The Spidey logo above Doc Ock is actually the thick decal in the original goodies bag, because it’s so thick it sits there just fine

I do love that blue. I had both the OG and the Vault SM for a while in my collection, but recently sold the OG. the blue for my vault is a bit lighter, but still basically setup to match spidey’s outfit.

Absolutely. Love everything about this pin... but it did come with it from the previous user, so I didnt pick it out. Would do so if I didn’t have one though. Best imho.

Sweet! Everything on that just ties in so well. Glad to see you have the ceiling height for that topper.
I'm starting to gravitate towards those hybrid mirror/graphic side blades now. Looking at one for my Tron.
Little pricey but nice looking.

Does anyone else's right flipper feel significantly weaker than the left, even after a rebuild? I'm wondering whether this is actually a thing or if I have a problem to fix. If feels quite free when operated by hand.

No. Mine feel similar.

You’ve an issue to track down. Both flippers should feel the same. Possibly start with checking EOS gap.

My EOS on the right actually opens later and less than the one on the left. I presume having it open earlier would make it less powerful.

1/8" gap. A good resource is VID's Guide to Upgrading/Rebuilding Flippers.

Just added my 2nd Spidey. Very nice cond overall, but 3-bank motor won’t go up or down. Shows the image below during test.

Anyone have this issue? Fuses all look good. Motor simply won’t respond. All connections look ok.

Thanks!

Looking at the manual it went near the centre top area. Near the 'W' drop lane.

Motor could be bad. First take the fuse out and test with a meter for resistance.
You could also test voltage at the motor to see if the power is getting to the terminals when it is supposed to go up.

I believe it is fuse F10 for the the 20V applications. If your flashers are working then the fuse is not the problem.

It also could be the motor relay board part number 500-6700-00 from page 80 of the manual. I have never had one fail but others have. Pinball life has that: https://www.pinballlife.com/24v-relay-with-harness.html

This is the motor if you end up needing that:
https://www.pinballlife.com/search.html?Search=511-5063-00

Assuming all the wires are unbroken and connected, the other possibility is the Q20 transistor failing.

So all of a sudden doc ock is ejecting the ball wild sometimes instead of going into the right guide. Sometimes it will blast it farther down near the right slingshot on or off the guide. I haven’t moved the pin at all and tried making slight adjustments to the legs but not working. Seems like 60% off the ball ejections aren’t right.

The bracket underneath the playfield seems tight.

Any suggestions?

TIA

Are the plastic pieces on the sides of the super vuk in place and tight? They should keep the ball from flying off that vuk rail.

That was it! I made some adjustments to the plastic Piece and it seems to be working much better. Looks like it got a little deformed and I had to loosen a couple screws, adjust the piece, and tighten back up. Thanks for your help!

It ended up being the motor. Replaced it and it works fine now. One opto was out too, in front of Sandman. That was cheap, but time consuming due to location. It's all fine now and playing great! Even got to Battle Royale, which is rare for me! Great game.

Lets forget about the toppers for a second, it’s an honor to have SM (either) and IM next to each other in your game room. JD is a good 90’s game also. I dig what you have right now and would be happy for a long time if I were you. Enjoy

Reminds me - I need IM back someday

help my stupidity, there is no way to adjust the trough eject power on the 2007 machine right?

and if not what's the best option for a shooter lane showing wear? Mezel? cliffy?

I like Cliffy shooter lane protectors. He makes them for both sides of the shooter lane, which does effectively cover most wear and prevent further wear. I usually get them for all my pins. Just email Cliff and tell him what you want and give your PayPal address and he will invoice you.

#1843 3 years ago

this is cliffy....

Does this leaf switch have a purpose in the game?

image (resized).jpegimage (resized).jpeg
#1845 3 years ago

Yep, I believe it awards points at fairly low values. I recently added a SM and that switch wasn’t gapped properly, so vibrations kept adding points randomly. We finally found it was that switch. Other than that, I’m not sure what it does.

I’ve had my SM for almost a week now and starting to get a good feel of the game. I have a hard time with the left ramp though. It’s significantly harder to make than the right ramp.
When shot at, the ball often don’t have the strength to make the whole ramp and is rejected back. Shooting the left ramp with the ball stationary at the right flipper feels almost impossible. When I do make it, it’s almost always with a hard volley shot or when the ball is already in motion.
It definitely requires perfectly aimed hard shots. The right ramp is much easier.

Is the left ramp known to be hard? I’m thinking of making some adjustments to the ramp or maybe the angle of the playfield. Or is it just my aim that needs improvement?

Check your pitch and level, should not be that hard I can hit it with both flippers quite easily

Do you need a flipper rebuild? A direct shot from the right lower flipper should not have any problem making the center ramp (assuming you mean the center ramp when you say left, the left ramp is the ramp you shoot from the upper flipper).

This is a great tutorial of the gameplay and scoring strategies:

As it turned out, the playfield was way too steep. I adjusted the level and it made a HUGE difference. I’m happy again.

Here’s a picture of my machine. What a game, count me in the club
