Would it be a problem to keep a pinball machine in an apartment that relies on window unit AC? In the summer during work hours and on weekends away, it can get pretty hot in there... up into the 90's. Wasn't sure if this would have detrimental impact on the wood due to thermal expansion.

Not sure about the pinball but an apartment in the 90's doesn't sound like you would have fun playing anyway.... Do you at least have fans to draw heat out?

Its fine when we are there... I can turn on the window unit AC. We just don't let it run while away, so it gets hot.

I don't think heat is a problem as much as humidity. Either way, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Solid wood expands and contracts, but plywood is a little more stable.
