If you want to do it carefully and try and preserve the sticky tape, run a hairdryer over it and run a plastic razor blade or card underneath the edges to separate it from the playfield. Trying to use force to pull on it is likely to result in it bending and causing you more issues.

That's a bit extreme, but in these ball drop areas I prefer a piece of mylar. Just stick it down straight over the switch slot and use an xacto or razor to trim the slot area out. Works great to protect, simple, and has almost no effect on ball travel.
