I did not find it very difficult. Steps I took:
1. Get at least 1person to help
2. Stand playfield up
3. Loosen subway that delivers ball to cannon move about 1 inch out of way
4. Remove any bulbs or bulb/ sockets that interfere with cannon assy removal
5. Have helper hold cannon assy and remove screws that attach BLACK cannon assy mounting ring to playfield
6. Have helper hold playfield 45 degree angle and another helper hold cannon assy out of way
7. Carefully position Cliffy Protector
8. Stand playfield back up
9. Reattach cannon assy leaving attach screws just lightly snug
10. Check cannon edge clearance from top side playfield
11. Move cannon assy until even clearance obtained.
12. Tighten mounting screws
13. Reinstall bulbs, sockets, subway.
14. Properly thank helpers.
