    Hi All,

I have a playfield that is ready for clear-coating but the cold weather is making me apprehensive. I have a detached garage that I use as a workshop but it is not insulated. I do have a kerosene heater that I use which after being on for 2 hours can get things to close to 80 degrees F inside when it is about mid 30s F outside. When I turn the heater off it takes several hours for the temperature inside to drop to close to that of the outside. I was planning on warming up the garage, shutting the heater off, then spraying the clear, let the fumes air out, then keep it warm for a few more hours and shutting it off in the evening.

Can I spray 2-part clear-coat under these conditions? Will the temperature drop overnight cause problems? Should I just wait until the warmer weather?

    Thanks!

Thanks so much for the replies!

I will be using SprayMax 2K in a spray can, The cans are kept in the house so they are room temperature. According to the documentation, the stuff dries in 12 hours at 68 F.

I should add that the playfield is separated from the rest of the room in a makeshift booth using plastic draping so maybe that will help keep away any soot from the spray area. I was also thinking of using an oil filled radiator heater in the booth itself after I spray a coat to keep things heated, instead of turning the kerosene heater back on.

Say I spray a coat in the early afternoon, is it safe for me to bring this in the house at night? Are the nasty, toxic fumes still being released?

    Thanks.
