Drops were barely dropping so it was time to dig in and get my hands dirty!

Under the mini playfield... Lots of stuff going on. Take lots of pics.

Got the assembly out. Pretty dirty.

Took off circuit board. More nasty.

Further disassembly... soak drops in bleach water (use a degreaser next time).

009.jpg009.jpg

Gunky drop target posts.

Front posts cleaned up.

011.jpg011.jpg

Cleaned one piece at a time with rubbing alcohol.

A little magic eraser on the drops and voila!!! Much better!

Back together again

Nice work. I highly recommend an ultrasonic cleaner. You could've dropped the whole assembly in it and it would've looked like new in 5 mins. It is a miracle worker.

This is the one I have.

I had thought of that. My friend has one and I gave him 2 coin mechs to stick in there but he said they were too big to fit. I didn't realize they made them in larger sizes. So you think they make a size that this whole mech would fit in?

I see the exterior dimensions on the link but not sure the size of the interior bin.

It's pretty deep. I'm not sure if the entire mech would fit. The drops on my shadow battlefield need cleaned. I might try it this weekend just to see.

I'm in the process of a PF swap on a highspeed. I left the mechs soldered to the harness and just dipped one at a time thru the ultrasonic. If the mech was too large I'd just rotate it and run it again. The results were amazing.

Sweet. I may need to invest in one. Would have saved me about an hour and a half

All you needed was some Wesley Bleachwhite tire cleaner... cleaning those pieces with rubbing alcohol and Q tips is crazy man. Spray them with bleachwhite and watch the soot run off. I always follow up with warm water and dish soap followed by a good rinse. Been using it for a long time...

I knew there had to be a better way. That is a clever solution. Thanks for the tip!
