Unless you plated them in gold and you'd remember that by the cost tgey are brass and to remove that pitting you will remove that thin layer of brass , cheaper to buy brass legs unless you have a very cheap plater in mind ,, you can always try the bottom of the leg or the inside with Brasso good luck
