Hi all.

I'm doing a clean up of a Cow Poke, and have removed all of the baseboard and cabinet labels. Any idea what the best way to clean them up might be. I don't think soap water would be good for 50 year old card labels...

Thanks!

Scan them to the highest resolution you can.Transfer the file to your favorite Photo Editing Program and clean up any missing graphics. Then print them to a good medium/heavy stock paper and cut to size.
Or find someone who already has done this and print from their file.
If they look too new and you wish to "Relic" them a little lay them in the sun a few days.OR lightly mist with strong tea.

Maybe wet a paper towel with alcohol and wipe the labels? Not sure if that will result in some ink loss or not.

Someone needs to scan a Cow Poke instruction/score card and send it to Peter Inkochnito so he can make a file for that card for others to download. He has a lot of Gottlieb em score/instruction cards in his library to download (he asks for a donation) but he doesn't have Cow Poke listed.

But he does have a A-9387 Tilt mechanism card on his site to download that came from a Cow Poke

For baseboard labels I use an Indian rubber eraser to clean the dirt from the labels.

And I actually had to make up the bank for this game, shoot me your email and I'll send you an excel file I used

I've heard of people using white bread. If they are stained, you are stuck.

Google for archivist guides on cleaning paper. They recommend specific types of eraser and also vulcanized rubber sponges.

I just sent him a scan.

Thanks! I will do that. When it's done this Cow Poke is going to be a beauty. Cab refinished and painted, playfield totally restored, innards cleaned and polished... Still a long way to go....
