Quoted from Deez:

NOOOO!! That's my wedding anniversary and wife's birthday

Looks like you're going to have to change those dates, Matt. Your wife will understand.

#19 8 years ago
Quoted from Blackbeard:

Great. Another Thursday Friday Saturday.
A lot of people can't attend until Saturday, which is when a lot of pins etx are removed.
Sorry to be negative but man, can't there ever be a show on the weekend?!
(That said I'll probably take Friday off).

Hotel was the issue this time. See above two posts.

#21 8 years ago

I'd like to rent a box truck with liftgate so I can bring my pins again. I wasn't done taking them home until 1am, although rain was an issue. Either way, that'd be my ideal method of travel. Anywhere I could do that so I can figure out pricing?

#25 8 years ago
Quoted from Gundam_Pilot_:

You should have more of those old cool arcade machines. Those were the best part of the show

Yeah, I really liked the Pac Mans and the Space Invaders! Unlike those stupid non-television game things. I don't know who brought those....

I need to get my real phone's camera fixed. It broke (dropped it) right before the show and I had to use my work iPhone piece of garbage. The screen is too tiny and I didn't see some of my photos were out of focus.

For those who may be living under a rock, the Ohio Pinball Show is in a couple of days. Thursday the 31st, Friday the 1st, and Saturday the 2nd.

And in CLE•PIN news, the Cleveland Pinball and Arcade Show is part of the PAPA circuit this year.

#46 8 years ago

What is considered classic? Just EM's? 1980 and below?

I'm a bit confused about the VIP tickets. Are they already gone? Or going on sale in a few weeks?

You haven't missed out, they are not sold out. They will be going on sale soon.

Stay tuned!

Ticket sales are now live!

Quoted from chuckwurt:

I have fixed all the issues I was having with it last year. Maybe I could give it a go again. That thing just sucks to break down. We shall see. If I bring baby Pacman it might reduce my game capacity to one. I will measure and see.

Just rent a box truck so you can swing by my place and pick up my pins too. I'll give you $3 for your efforts. In Pesos.

#65 7 years ago
Quoted from chuckwurt:

I thought you got a new rig to haul your collection around?

$3600 repair bill on my car axed that.

#67 7 years ago
Quoted from nikpinball:

At the austin tx circuit event papa people came in and ran it. I hear Don might be sourcing some pins from great restorers for the tourney. Playing games that play like new with burning fast auto cleared fields.... Awesomeness.

I guess my F-14 won't be in the tournament again. Lol

#83 7 years ago

Times flies, 4 months will be here before you know it. The tournament guys are just ironing out details so it's smooth sailing in September.

#87 7 years ago

Evan, you're missing a PAPA circuit event?

I'll most likely be bringing my 6 again. Maybe the Raven I just picked up if I get it running 100%.

Quoted from Bos98:

Thinking about bringing my RBION to the show. I hate lugging games out of my basement though.

Look into buying an Escalara. I think they're about the price of a pin, but make moving them up and down stairs a lot easier. I've seen you buy and sell in the Ohio thread, so if you're always active, this might be worth your while.

#136 7 years ago

The biggest lines last year where the newer Sterns. Pretty much the only games I had to wait in line to play.

#154 7 years ago

Only one month away, everyone!

And don't forget that you can use your paid admission to get 20% off at Melt Bar and Grilled, which is right down the street from the show. Excellent place to eat!

#158 7 years ago

I've added some photos to the first post of last year's show. I really wish I had better ones, but my Note 4 camera broke after I dropped it (whoops) and I was stuck with my dumb iPhone camera. I couldn't see that some of them were blurry so a lot of the photos I took are useless. Feel free to add some of your own if you have them!

#172 7 years ago

Great stuff, Jeffrey!

#182 7 years ago

The show is only 24 days away!

#187 7 years ago
Quoted from mot:

This thread isn't nearly active enough given that the show is only three weeks away.
I decided I'm going all out: renting a truck, getting a hotel, and bringing just about all of my games. All potentially for sale or trade.
Star Trek: The Next Generation
White Water
Creature from the Black Lagoon
Fish Tales
High Speed
Gottlieb Big Hit
Gottlieb El Dorado
Bally Fireball (EM)

Very cool! I always love playing Fireball. Very fun game.

I'm grateful my friend bought a trailer and is helping me bring my 7 games. I hope the rain holds off this year.

#191 7 years ago
Quoted from mot:

Oh crap.
Can't be worse than than the single digit temperatures at the Ohio Show a couple years ago.

Last year, the Ohio Burn Unit was rained out. I was looking forward to that show. But Saturday was awful. Poured and poured and poured. Everyone had to load up one person at a time. The parking lot flooded, it was a mess. I didn't finish getting my games home until 1am and I live 20 minutes away. Granted I made 3 trips.

I doubt that'll happen two years in a row though.

#200 7 years ago

That was a fun one too.

1 week later
#358 7 years ago

I just tried as well and it didn't work for me neither.

#364 7 years ago

I still can't access the event page from Chrome. But I can directly from Facebook app.

I hope that the lift cart going through the bottom of my Raven is the worst that happens during the show. Stupid particle board. Definitely need to get a top for the cart so it uses the outside frame of the machine.

Can't wait until tonight!

Sweet camera setup!

Quoted from Bos98:

Thanks! I try to keep all my games playing great after I shop them. Tough to judge with home only use and I was glad to get it a good work out.
If anyone is interest I put a tag on it at $3400 but feel free to make an offer, cash or trade for something in that range or I can bring some cash. I am not a great player and while I do enjoy the theme the rules are pretty deep and I just struggle to work through the game.

Wish I had the money. Beautiful game! Thanks for bringing it!

#484 7 years ago
Quoted from silver_spinner:

PS- stop making it rain every year . cle pin and ohio show both always have crazy weather issues for loading and unloading.
geeeesh.

One good thing, the rain wasn't as bad as last year. The monsoon actually let up unlike last year.

#487 7 years ago
Quoted from ilovegames007:

Geocab from bringing 6 very nice machines

Haha! You missed the opportunity to add, "and Raven" to the end of that.

I had a great time, very nice show yet again. Thanks, Don, Marvin, Brian, and everyone else running the show.

Big thanks to Lee and Fred for helping me transport my machines. That's what's so great about this hobby. What other hobby has guys that'll help you move twelve 300 pound machines (Mine and Fred's), just to move them again after 3 days? I love pinball people! I spent most of the show talking to you guys than I did playing games. Although I made sure to play everything at least once.

The only thing that bothered me at all was the low power issues. Which isn't exclusive to this show. I don't know how that could be solved, have other shows come up with a solution? Power conditioners for each circuit?

And to the couple from Kansas City who flew in for the show, you guys were awesome. 3 days straight and I don't think I ever saw you NOT playing a game. Awesome!

Thanks to everyone who brought pins and/or arcades. Most everything was in playable condition, that was great.

Q Bert's Quest is a really neat game. Glad that was there.

The Ohio Burn Unit was a neat additional thing for the show too. Glad they weren't rained out this year.

Looking forward to next year!

I only need two words to sum up how awesome the show was:
THUNDER MAN!!

I can't believe how much Apple Time stole from other companies. Fantastic that it was at the show.

#500 7 years ago
Quoted from Skypilot:

Let's not forget Andy who brought all those playfields and about six machines.
I personally would like to thank Gnatty for his help in getting Earthshaker back up and running. We also had a few problems in the beginning with Whitewater and Dirty Harry so we sacrificed Dirty Harry to keep Whitewater running for everyone.

For sure! Andy's playfields were gorgeous!

#514 7 years ago
Quoted from chooch:

I enjoyed watching someone start a 4 player game on JD all for himself. He was no noobie either that accidentally hit start to many times.

Mr. Gloves did that every game if that's who you referring to.
