does anyone know the procedure for safely removing the plastic bezel around the glass display?

I have a good display (no bad or freckled elements), but the plastic bezel surrounding the glass display is all cracked and broken in 3 spots. I'd like to replace it with a non-broken bezel from an extra display that I procured where a few of the digit segments are shot.

there are 2 screws (underneath the pc board) that secure the bezel onto the pc board to protect the glass display, but even with those removed, I can't seem to determine how you would slide the bezel off of the display.

    thanks mike!

I'm guessing that the part of the plastic from the bezel runs all the way across the surface of the pc board, underneath the glass portion of the display (in the center, where there are no pins)

yep, a narrow piece of fuzzy (felt?) tape runs vertically over the left and right sides extending over the top of the bezel and wraps around over the bottom of the pc board.

the bezel is also secured to the pc board with a pair of black anodized (or oxide) phillips screws (stabilizing the glass display)
