I’ll take any working Cheetah for 2,500.
I know they are going for more than that, when they do come up which is rare.
Quoted from TractorDoc:Pic of the playfield I'd send to CPR at the same time. [quoted image]
Very nice condition.
Quoted from tatman9999:My back glass is an 8
Here is the playfield that is clear coated with auto clear. Has altek boards.will have new plastics soon.
It's amazing for sure. I'm confident in the under 3k range, it would be gone quickly. At the same time, I wouldn't be surprised if you sold it for quite a bit more. I am pretty sure one sold around my area for what I am guessing was the neighborhood of 3.5k but I do not have proof (however I would say yours is in better condition)
I dug this up, and I know there was another with a high valuation recently:
https://pinside.com/pinball/market/classifieds/ad/78303
But I do not know if they went or not, I kind of think not, as I don't think we are at Fathom equivalence (yet anyway)

I just put that price up to dissuade cash offers.
I am looking to downsize a few projects so feel free to make me an offer now. Shipping ok if buyer organizes.
Well,
I had talked to Stu at CPR yesterday and he did agree to take in my playfield and work on the art in his "non-CPR" time. He said there was no guarantee the playfields would ever get made or if they did what kind of time frame it would be. . . but it was something.
Today he messaged me to say someone is sending him a NOS playfield to work with so I don't yet have to send mine. Either way it is good news because he is taking the time to work on the art. . . and there is someone else besides me asking him to work on Cheetah stuff so perhaps some demand is there.
Fingers Crossed!
There was some chatter in one of his FB posts. Perhaps he got more responses than he expected. When it comes to the playfield art restoration on Cheetah, it’s not a overly complicated job. Huge areas of color. Fingers crossed

Yes, the playfield doesn’t seem too complicated. I was surprised to see the plastics at already available. CPR has done a lot of the more popular pins. Hopefully they can start doing some of these niche ones with there new process.
Quoted from TractorDoc:So I heard back from Stu -- the owner of the NOS Playfield backed out on sending it to him.
Before he can change his mind I boxed mine up and it should ship out to Arizona tomorrow. The vet clinic cats can sense the feline vibes. [quoted image]
Thanks for sending yours!
Quoted from tatman9999:Put double lane plastic .
That's cool, did your set come with that extra plastic? or is it just supposed to come with the single inlane plastic? confused. thanks!

Had them made.

Cool, I think I will try to do something similar. I can see these easily chipping, particularly if you catch a fast ball near the back of the flipper.

Make them from polycarbonate/ Lexan/ Macrolon. The stuff is easy to cut and is nearly indestructible. It is great for ball guides.
Here is a pic from a Flight 2000 I have waiting for restoration. Stern did a service bulletin to add these wire guides under the plastics. As you can see, they did not work.
Doing the over/under with polycarbonate is the way to go.

Thanks, I just about forgot that the one I have came with some custom inlanes. They are orange unfortunately. lol, but maybe not too bad under the new plastics.
Looks like I have some some restoration work as well, but it'll get there.. feeling excited
Plastics arrived today, but I have a flash to finish before I can get back to my Cheetah.
Cheetah is going to be awesome, I already have brand new flipper assemblies installed. All working, just need to get some time to tackle the PF restoration.
Quoted from Dantesmark:What is roughly the value of a cheetah in good players condition?
Whatever the seller agrees to let it go for. Seriously, prices are all over the board when I was looking to pick up mine as they don't come up often. When a guy gets it from a buddy of his cousin or something and it's never publicly posted for sale - does that really count towards a market indicator?
Quoted from Dantesmark:What is roughly the value of a cheetah in good players condition?
If it's listed on Pinside? Just as much as all the other desirable classic Stern machines in very short supply. Viper, Catacomb, Nine Ball, Star Gazer, ect. That's what they call a seller's market. Doubt you will find one for 3K. Be prepared to pay, even for a beat down project.
A playfield update for all the Cheetah owners.
I talked to Stu a couple days ago and he has completed the artwork portion of the recreation process. The next step will be getting another playfield submitted for the CAD/Design process. I have another extra playfield that I plan to send in for that, but will have to wait for the OK from them as they are working on implementing a new system/way of doing things on their website and with the playfields in general. That is for them, not me, to explain at some point in the future. . . perhaps I have said too much.
Anyway, one step closer to a repro Cheetah playfield but still potentially a long way off.
I do think it will eventually happen!

Thanks to Jeff for getting these done & fast. I think we scanned this cab just over a week ago & stencils already avail. Excited to bring this one back to life finally.

It’s good to see people producing parts for restoring.
Last month I sent my Cheetah rails to Taylor Reese. He made me a set of reproductions. Now that he has a template he can make more if anyone needs a set.

Knowing the guy who provided the scans for Jeff, he charged him $150 to design them, then another $170 to produce and ship a set for a whopping $320 total. Now he has the artwork and everyone can get them for $149. Seems out of whack to me. Where is the incentive to be the 1st to the table and take the time to scan artwork only to pay more than double price than the general public now gets them for?
Since I like Jeff, I'll refrain from any Pimp comments.

I would think Pimp would be happy to get them.

Darn right! 1st customer paid for the setup, now he has the file to sell them. Plus he charged more for the 1st set than the 2nd. I don't get that mind set.
Well, since there is no guarantee there will be another sale, and the first set is a lot of f'n work it makes sense to me. now if he offered a kickback on each sale after that it would be cool.

Anyone know how BGResto works for this? I was under the impression he kind of ate his initial cost, but the idea is you always make it back in the long run.
Same with CPR to that end it would seem, where there is more incentive to get them the original and work with the initial people in getting the design work done for future use?
Quoted from BorgDog:Well, since there is no guarantee there will be another sale
I'd bet he sells a dozen + of these in the 1st month. Cheetah is a high dollar game. The only one that sold here was $6500. More than twice as many have it on their wish list than actually own one. 1223 produced, maybe half left. Supply < Demand.
Quoted from kidchrisso:They can still be found...
WOW!.. Looks amazing.. nice find!
Anybody have an extra set of lower inlane plastics by the flippers? I need a set of replacements and dont want to buy a whole set from CPR for 2 broken plastics. Hit me up with what you have.
Thanks!

I'm proud to say my blue cab cheetah was the model for the new pimp stencils. It was expensive, it is what it is. I needed them, Jeff came through big time, not much you can say about that. If it benefits other pinheads, glad to be of some help. WeatherbyMAG has been putting in a ton of work to prep my cab, making it as perfect as possible. Paint will be flying soon!

Congrats on your score bud! Hope you didn't have to break the bank for it
Quoted from HoakyPoaky:Congrats on your score bud! Hope you didn't have to break the bank for it
Under $2500 in a crate shipped...funny thing was, it was plain as day out there if you did a simple google search.
Sounds about right. I want one badly, but not at the prices some people are asking. The hunt continues... play a few games for me!
Enjoying this thread as Cheetah was the game I played as a little kid at the laundromat and I finally got one which I need to work on. Will be ordering new plastics and prob a playfield if/when that happens!
Quoted from genex:prob a playfield if/when that happens!
is there a repro PF being worked on somewhere?

CPR might be making PFs...

No idea! Is yours missing the apron? Would need to see the boards, interior, Cab art, BG etc... I as well as many others would certainly be interested though!

Back glass is very nice . Has altek led board. Led displays, cabinet is a 7
Looks like touched up and cleared PF w/ some new plastics? I'd certainly rather have something with a 7 cab and save some bucks for sure if it plays great
May as well list high and see what happens, us Classic Stern addicts are a rather impulsive bunch!
