    Well, there aren't any hinges for the backbox on classic Stern--maybe that is what you mean? You can certainly place the head down on the body after placing something between the head and side rails. Just butt it up to the wooden neck and strap the head down to the cabinet body. Don't forget to remove the ground between the cabinet and the head.

    I would suggest being careful with the backglass on classic Stern as the loose metal bracket that sits on top of the backglass can wear a line through the art on the back. Especially when the game is in transit.
