picked up a very nice stern Galaxy and my displays were a little flaky so I did all the usual. repinned connector to the board. repinned connector to displays, replaced pins on display and resoldered pins from glass to display board.

    here is what happens.

Displays work in #1 and #2 when 3 and 4 are out.
when I add displays #3 and #4 (with working displays) the displays in #1 and #2 get flaky like they are gassing, digets don't work 100% I am lost on this one. what would cause them to do that by adding display 3 and 4?

    any help is much appreciated.

    thank you in advance

    Quoted from Quench:

Post some clear pictures when the problem occurs.
What voltage do you measure at the high voltage test points (TP2) on display 1 and 2? Use TP3 on the display board as your ground reference when measuring.

At test point 2 on all 4 displays I get 146-152 Volts.

First picture is all 4 displays plugged w credit/ball

Second picture is with displays 3 and 4 disconnected

Third pic is with only player 1 and credit/ball display plugged in

    Quoted from Quench:

That voltage is low. You should be getting about 185 volts.
Presuming this has an original solenoid driver board, what voltages do you read at TP4 and TP2 on the solenoid driver board? TP4 should be around 240 volts, while TP2 should be around 185 volts.
When you disconnect players 3 and 4 displays, what does TP2 measure at the player 1 and 2 displays?
If you swap the displays at player 1 with 3 and player 2 with 4, does the condition follow the displays or does it stay at player 1 and 2 position?

I measured TP4 at 249 volts and TP2 143 - 146. looks like I am down on TP2. I repined the board and changed out 1 cap. on the board.
What would cause the lower voltage at TP2?

I can get the display up to about 168 volts by disconnecting the other displays. The more displays I disconnect the higher the reading on Player one display goes.

Sounds like you are on to something. Cant thank you enough!

    Quoted from Quench:

Can you remove that stained plastic cover from the solenoid driver board and take another photo so we can see the high voltage circuitry it's covering?

looks like I have a cooked resister.
also I am not getting a reading on the resistor pointed out in my last pic.

having a hard time identifying part numbers for the components on the board. example Q22. Nothing in the manual really gives this info or values of resistors either.

I'm going to search pinwiki to see others is anything there

perfect. I'll work on it tonight. hope I have the parts on hand.

    Quoted from Quench:

Note resistors R51 and R56 are 1/2 watt resistors.

    How many OHMS? 82K ohms + - 5%???

    Thanks again!

    Quoted from Quench:

Yep, resistor R56 is 82k ohms as per the schematic and the color bands (grey, red, orange). The gold color band on that resistor says it's manufactured within 5% tolerance. Physical size and as per schematic it's 1/2 watt.
    R51 is a 22k ohm, 1/2 watt resistor.

Having trouble finding Diode 1N5275A..... all I can find is Part Number 1N5275B

    Quoted from Quench:

If you've already got all other parts on hand then leave it for now.\

    Had to order some parts.

Where are you getting your 25k pots from (or recommentd) when you're buying multiples? Id also like to order some 1N5275A to have on hand, GPE doesn't have them.

    Thanks again

    Quoted from Quench:

    500 milliwatt versions.

this is what I sent with. thank you
