How is the vacuumed one supposed to attach? Mine is quite worn, and is just kind of shoved in the backbox behind the outer glass. It falls out as soon as I remove the outer glass. Should there be a second glass?

Just looked at mine and that makes sense. Mine is torn in both corners, so it won't hang. There is bulb burn in a couple places, and a notch cut out by the backbox latch. I think I'll buy one of the replacements to see if I can sandwich the two together to make it look better overall.
