I just got a CV over the weekend and am thrilled with it!!! I noticed that the slings were soft and loose so I took a look. See the photos. There is no “pin” or rod at th center of the kicker arm to the bracket. I have never seen or worked on slingshots like the ones in CV - it appears they are unique to this machine. What am I missing??? The parts diagram doesn’t appear to indicate any sort of pin. Just a hairpin clip. I see no parts in the cabinet that have fallen or broken off. What do I need to buy to fix this? A search on Marcos and a review of this diagram have me stumped!

Quoted from schudel5:

That pivot pin is pressed in the slingshot bracket and the peened over to hold it in. Looks like yours broke and fell out. And, yes, those brackets are specific to CV.
Those brackets are $50 each from Marco. https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/04-10721
Not really much you can do because they are very difficult to fix. I've pulled a pin out of an old sling bracket and then welded it in but it was a lot of work.

Thank you! That’s what I was afraid of. I can’t find a single photo of that bracket from the other side so I wasn’t totally sure. Looks like an order to Marcos is imminent! In the meantime I’ll probably throw a screw and lock nut in there so at least I can play and it’s pivoting on something!

Well I won’t call it a permanent fix but I did remove the assemblies and install an appropriately sized screw through the hole in the bracket (where the pin was) and the hole in the sling shot arm and put a new lock nut on the other side. Was sure to leave a bit of slack in there to prevent binding and put it all back in. Success!!! The slings are active and tight like they should be now. I’ll probably leave them like this for now until one of those screws breaks or it’s time to fully rebuild. Thanks for the info today gentlemen!
