So just sharing in case it helps others. The final clean and touch up after I complete a restore or rebuild (from my non pinball) I find to be the most pleasurable but time consuming but it the one where I have to my manage my perfectionalism (not a real word )
I have spent most of today cleaning and polishing the inside of the can and top and underside of the play field with my son.
We use a car detailing vacuum attachment which lets us get into the smallest of places.

I recently bought a new one and luckily one of the attachments is a perfect fit inside lanes and ramps

One area that really helps with the look at a distance is to apply black acrylic paint to the edges of the staples for the earth braid as it keeps the braid looking straight and neat

The back of the cab is now something that is enjoyable to look at once it is clean and cable managed. I need to do a final polish to the shiny bits and line up all the hex heads so the points all, well point in the same direction and a polish of the inside wood of the cabinet but then I feel it is “done” in here.

Lots of little jobs but so I can say it’s the best I can do but I will no longer need to keep the glass off
