That voltage converter for your EL wires is really cool. Please tell me where can I get one of those?

What was the cost for powdercoating the habittrails?

Mine needs some work and chrome is about $30 with Mike Chestnut since he is doing some other stuff for me now....

Thanks.

Quoted from Patofnaud:

You know, I'm not sure.
I had a lot of work going off to Pinchroma at the same time, we had some long delays due to the unique Glowbee™ topcoat we wanted to do, and UPS breaking one of my habitrails in packing AND my BBBB in process at the same time, that Pinchroma gave me a fantastic bundle price.
Here is an older link to his pricing.

Note the this includes full strip/prep work. He is beyond good with this stuff IF you can get him. I hear he is very busy.
As for chrome, thanks for reminding me, I need my T2 launcher done and was going to see if Mike could do them.

He has my T2 gun right now.... I can PM you the prices if you want.

And Elvira still looks hot. I saw an interview with her from just a few months ago and she looks great. She is in her 60's and you wouldn't know it.

Oh wait, are we talking about the pinball machine?

I have discovered flame polishing. I am not sure why I didn't try it sooner. It is so easy. I am flame polishing everything now!

Coffin box before

after

Ramps after (they were dirty brown and scratched up before)

I am pretty sure that the scratches at the bottom of the right ramp could be removed by an expert. I am not even close to that and since those ramps are extinct I figured I would stop where I was.

I just used a regular torch like Black Rose is using on this YouTube video.

He is clicking it on and off to regulate the heat but I just turned the flame down low and moved the flame away, and held it in my hand and when I could feel the ramp heating up all the way through I stopped and let it cool off so it wouldn't deform.

Sent my wireform off to get plated by Mike Chestnut so I was working on some lighting mods with black lights while I wait.

Got a roll of the UV black light LEDs and made a couple lexan plates to put the LEDs on. One for under the Boogie Men and one for under the skull. The LEDs are 12 volt so they work well with the flashers. The clear plate works really well because it doesn't block out the GI lights underneath and plastic can be mounted over it. The UV lights are a little dimmer than regular LEDs but they react to the colors (especially green on Elvira)

Also installed a UV spotlight on coffins. (looks creepy like I wanted)

Took another crack at getting the ball trails out of the long ramp (especially the last part) and I was more successful. Followed Black Rose's advice in his videos. Tried Novus 2 again and took out a little more and then flame polished again.

Did I overdo it with the bright pink LEDs behind the boobs? Some women that play my machine seem to think so. Personally, I think they could be brighter and pinker and maybe even bigger....

Quoted from karmalord:

Brad, was wondering if you removed those decals before flame polishing each time? Like the color scheme on the back box you chose. If you can remember what you used please share!

No I left the decals on, I just didn't polish the areas on the same side as the decals. It wasn't too bad to do. I had never done it before and I watched a few videos and went ahead and did it. If you take your time and don't get it too hot, you should be ok.

I will try to post a picture of where my LED's are in the backbox.

#110 10 years ago

Here's where the LEDs are behind my back glass. The whites are cool whites and the one behind Elvira's head is an Ultra brite (Looks better in person). The ones that look yellow and not circled are standard incandescents. It looked too washed out with LEDs in the busy areas. It's funny how totally different LEDs photograph.
