Quoted from ASOA:This I feel is a huge reason people try real hard not to like something new that is coming out. Yes sure money is a big factor but over money is a collectors biggest problem and that is space. Most people have to chop a game of there line up to make room for the next new thing. Most collectors by now do not have games in there collection that they think are just ok. Usually at this point they have filled there spaces with games they love. Since they have to sell one of there favorites these people have a tendency of being overly judgemental on these new titles. Most of the time unfairly so.
People this is a sickness and many of you are missing out on some fantastic games. I hope that we find a cure one day for "Chopping Syndrome" It is one of the biggest issues putting un needed stress on this industry.
I’d spin your theory the other way. It’s the pinball companies that are sick. They must be. Otherwise they would design and produce games that are more cool, more creative, more fun than A-List games of the past... and priced appropriately. Collectors are sickened when they see the prices of new games that have fewer bells and whistles than their beloved favorites, compromises due to licensing, cost cutting measures like fewer voice actors, cheaper bill of materials, incomplete code, unoriginality, etc.
