Let me know which top 5 games Stern has made that you believe are there worst or just can't get into the game play and leave a few notes after each game explaining your decision. I responded to the topic of Stern's top 5 games so thought we could do the worse as well for a fun topic. For example POTC was a game I was looking forward to but just find it is boring with hardly any ramps and slow pace of the game. I will list my worst top 5 games as post goes on.

There are still a bunch of Stern machines that I haven't played, but of the ones I have...

    Elvis
    Austin Powers
    Family Guy
    The Dark Knight
    The Sopranos

    #5 7 years ago

I really like the sopranos, I am hoping to pick one up in the future.

I havent played them all, but austin powers is at the bottom for me. nothing else that bad, yet...

    #11 7 years ago

    Striker Xtreme
    Austin Powers
    NBA
    High Roller Casino
    Roller Coaster Tycoon

The last years Stern made a lot of improvement, not all games are the best but they're not bad anymore.. but the first 3 on my list I even wouldn't take in my house even when I could get them for free..

Why the hate? What about love?

Check the other thread. Everyone has games they hate.

For me, the worst Sterns I've ever played are:
    TRS
    BBH
    RCT
    Monopoly
    TF

    In no particular order:

    BDK
    TRS
    TF
    WOF
    Elvis

    #26 7 years ago

    Rolling Stones
    Austin Powers
CSI (Seriously, I'm the first one to mention this?)
    Wheel Of Fortune
Rolling Stones (Again,l hated it that much, and because I haven't played many sterns)

    #27 7 years ago

    BBH= FUN in my book

    #28 7 years ago

    Thats tough

High Roller does nothing for me.

    Striker Extreme just plain lame

I can find something fun in almost all the others

    #29 7 years ago

Not in any order except family guy.

    Family Guy
    Rolling Stones
    Roller Coaster Tycoon
    Big Buck Hunter
TSPP (code rocked though but not enough to save toy feel, bad sound system, and no lady voices) and 24 tied

    #31 7 years ago

These are the Stern games I do not like, in no order.

    IJ
    TRS
    Avatar
    BBH
    CSI
    Sopranos
    Stryker Supreme
    Playboy

Haven't played NBA, 24 or Sharkeys Shootout so can't comment on them.
If you want reasons, go read my reviews of the games.

Wow, I wonder if people have played nice clean shopped out dialed in versions of the games they profess hatred for...makes a huge difference. So does having the volume up. For instance, I didn't think much of Elvis on route...always broken in some way or another, weak flippers, low sound. When I had it at home it was a blast. Anyway...

24 - Worst art and sound on a modern game EVER kill it.
Indiana Jones - Most boring game out of Stern ever...ark is cool once.
    Striker Xtreme - Bleh.
    Transformers - Over it.
World Poker Tour - I don't understand Poker...so I concede if you like Poker, this is probably a good game.

    #33 7 years ago

No offense Rarehero towards FG the franchise, as I recall you may have a role in it - fun series. The pin I've played nice clean version, fully working and I just can't get into the design. The sounds are fun but the game is a borefest. Mini stewie pinball is clever but one and done.

For me I played nice versions of all the ones I added to the list. I do agree on IJ btw.

Just curious - what is it that players dislike about the Playboy pin, other than the theme? I played it recently, and enjoyed it overall.

Agree to disagree...yes, I work on the show...but if anything that should tell you the LAST thing I wanna do is listen to more FG banter...I'm over it...lol. So, I'm just looking at the game from a design/rules standpoint and I still LOVE it 5 years after it came out. I'm generally a Lawlor fan, so I like his designs - TAF, RS, NGG, FH...and FG is up there w/ his best. Great combos, satisfying setup and rewards, pretty deep rules (I still can't reach Sperm Attack), and Stewie Mini is more than people give it credit for...it's one of the most interesting ways to start a Multiball...and then you have to play both fields during Mutiball, alternating character Jackpots (Lois on the mini, Lois on the main, etc). Great stuff.

Yeah, it's decent enough...the usual Gomez layout like Sopranos, LOTR, etc. Maybe people are offended? It always seemed pretty easy, maybe a bit boring...but not "bad" by any means.

Totally pointless thread. If there are games you hate, rate them. If there's something specific you don't like, put it in the rating comments.

    #40 7 years ago

Family Guy??? You guys are nuts!! I love it. It is one of my all time favorites. It's just fun to play and the theme is great. ( Just saw someone agrees with me )

    Worst games:

    Avatar
    WPT
    Indiana Jones
    24
    NASCAR

But really it should be worst 10 games

But thank god Stern is still around. they have made many great titles.

    #41 7 years ago

I have to assume this is just a "5 most personally unattractive themes" list, because otherwise a hate list needs some sort of educated explanation for the game's deficiencies. Considering that education can come only with a thorough understanding of rules and enough games to properly evaluate (50+?) one has to like the theme in the first place, so let's just call the thread what it is.

Funny, I'm generally a Lawlor fan as well and enjoy TAF, RS, TZ, FH and even RBION. I wish he was designing pins now. NGG, FG and RCT (I think he did that one) are simply not my favorites. Like the themes of two of them (not RCT) just don't enjoy. Agree to disagree.

Look at it another way, Maybe the 5 worst are nines on a scale of one to ten, and the others are tens. Sure there are a bottom five, but they're nines.

    #45 7 years ago

    ACDC Pro
    Sharkeys Shootout
    IJ4
    CSI
    Sopranos

Haven't played them all, but avatar, WPT, and NASCAR would be at the bottom of the list for me.

    #47 7 years ago

    I haven't played a pin from them that I realy don't like.
I have a BDK and it's a very good game with the latest code. The crane is the coolest toy I've ever seen. I had a BBH and it's a fun game, you have to play the modes, they are all good!!!
24 is ugly but fun to play with the latest code.

So perhaps I have not played the bad ones yet, but I can not nominate one for this list.

    #48 7 years ago

    24
    High Roller Casino
    Stryker Supreme
    Roller Coaster Tycoon
    Wheel Of Fortune

    Quoted from Nekojin:

Yeah...leave Playboy alone! Be honest...it's just sour grapes because you aren't allowed to have one.

...but seriously, I just picked up a Playboy and I'm really enjoying it. It's definatly different than any other pin I've had. Not as goal oriented as most modern games. A bit on the shallow side, but it works well and has an old school score driven feel to it. From the little bit I have played The Sopranos, the playfield on Playboy definatly has the same feel as it.

As for my least favorite 5:

    The Simpsons Pinball Party
    Monopoly

I can only guess: World Poker Tour, High Roller Casino and Sharkey's Shootout since I have never cared for card, gambling or pool themes.

    #50 7 years ago

I'm sorry, but no way that TSPP or FGY is worse than AP or TRS....I'm hoping that those that have made this distinction are judging these games worse only because they've never played an AP or TRS
