As a newbie, going thru my 1969 Gottlieb Airport Game.

I was looking at the Ball Count Stepper, and there appears to be a chip/missing tooth on the gear.

It is at approximately 12 o'clock across from the screw.

Is this actually a missing tooth?

Can it be repaired while it's in the machine by a newbie?

Replacement part number and instructions for replacement would be appreciated.

Thanks

That is the way it is. My Flip a Card's gear is exactly the same. It won't affect the ball count at all as the unit only steps five times and then is reset.

Gottlieb often did that deliberately, so that excess up-steps wouldn't push the gear too far. Easier and more reliable than an electrical cut-off last position switch!
