A longshot I'm sure but I have a 5v dmd (520-5052-15) with a blown chip at U2. Unfortunately between the bad printing and the conformal coating I can't read the chip numbers. Does anyone know what chip is used in position U2 on this board?

I managed to get a decent photo all things considered. It looks like HC04AG.

I'm thinking an MC74HC04AG is correct?
Any help would be very much appreciated.

That is very kind of you but I’ll hoist one with you in person someday when this pandemic passes. Cheers my friend.

Sounds good, also Stern sent me the schematics for the -05 dmd a few days later if it's ever helpful to you.

Thank you! I saved those away.
I had a column driver on a 5V XPin DMD fail a while back.
Easy part to obtain. I haven't had time to fix it yet though.
