DE does not use Whitestar. It's the Version 3 set. Which early Sega's I believe also used in the beginning.

Looking for a local deal so I'm not driving far!

#5521 6 years ago

Anybody have a lead on a nice used pool table? It must be a 3-piece slate, and preferably a nine footer.

I don't get it.. When I was like seven years old my dad bought me and my brother an evel knievel from an amusement reseller in chicago; so I have built in nostalgia. Played it a couple years ago, did nothing for me.

There are many things that don't do anything for me anymore but I would still like to own them for sentimental value or nostalgia.

It's a fun game but I've got 3 (probably soon 4)friends that have it already so I'll be playing it enough that I don't need to own it.

A friend has opened up a game room connected to his gambling bar in an effort to set it apart from all the other gambling bars in the area. I've put two pins in so far with a couple more to come, he also has darts, shuffle board and some other bar type games. I know most of us have pins at home but if your in the mood to gamble check them out and then drop some of your winnings in the pins. It's a nice place and the drinks are pretty cheap I'll even buy the first round if you want to meet me there.

No kidding. Me too. That's all I played for years. I own a pool table that I tore down and is in storage. It's a Super 8. Had the pro felt. Gorgeous. Now I'm just loaded with pinball machines.

FYI if you didn't read the Houdini thread I posted in::

FYI Chicago Land
Just Dropped off a Houdini for route, to Gavin' s Game service (Aka Gavin Miller ) This will be on location in one of his stops. I'm sure it will be put on the pin map locator as well today or tomorrow. I will Post as well where it is.

I will also be setting up another Houdini locally in a Nw Indiana for a location to be determined.

Was at the factory yesterday. Things are moving along at a quick pace at AP, as Rosh posted pics of earlier. Everything looks great there, lots of assembly line adjusting, playfields being populated, cabinets being assembled, games being boxed, and a lot of dedication for a great product going out!!!

Thinking about a Houdini night for the local or non local pinheads somewhere to come out and play (with food and beverages) for an evening on Pincades.

I will be attending some shows throughout the spring/early summer schedule, (Allentown, Kentucky Arcade Expo, MGC, maybe Ohio and a few other to be determined, if your looking for a new or used pin LMK. SAVE on that out of state delivery.

So a wooden box with spare parts for $2500?

I thought it was nuts as well when I first saw it listed, but I then started adding things up in my head, and it isn't as crazy as it first sounds. Sure, it may be a little high, but he did list it "obo". Funhouses have gone way up in value the last couple years. Let's say the game would require an additional $2,500 for a full restore. That would make it a $4,500-$5,000 game. Would some people pay that much for a nice Funhouse? You bet they would.

Are you including the cost of your labor? Or is that just parts alone?

Just the TIME alone required to resurrect that thing would be insane.

I was not including the labor. It was just a quick guess on what the parts might cost. Yeah, it would definitely be a lot of hours of work. My point was simply that the price for the game in the state that it's in isn't as crazy as it first seems. I know we would all like to think that it's a $1000 game in its current state, but it isn't.

he does say OBO so it's a starting point.

Quoted from Jamaster10:

FYI if you didn't read the Houdini thread I posted in::

What are you talking about, everyone here is totally glued to the Houdini thread, they all wait with bated breath for each and every update I post. They spend all day hitting 'refresh' just in hopes of some new tidbit from me.

(Rosh wonders if he really needs to include a sarcasm emoji)

I recently bought a machine from him (this past fall) and we negotiated. He was willing to budge to make a sale.
