Isn't that the kid that put up almost a 4B on GZ at CLEPin a few weeks back? Definitely has some serious flipper skills.

Is he playing Magic Girl, or is it playing him?

It's playable. Locks on ramps very make-able but we couldn't figure out how to released them.

That functionality is coming in Magic Girl 2.
Quoted from vdojaq:Just there or does he have a booth again?
He was supposed to be there with his large booth setup. BERK required him to pay for the booth space.
Sorry to hear he couldn't make it after all....
Quoted from bbaker2824:This is looking like an amazing expo shaping up!

That's my truck! It is so awesome to be able to drive TO THE BOOTH and unload! Such an improvement over the previous location.
I need to remember to take more pictures! Will need to up my photo game after our FAST Pinball talk at 6pm in the Nirvana room.
I have gotten to meet so many awesome people this year! Great to be back at Pinball Expo.

That’s too bad.
Anyone know if there will be any videos posted of the seminars ? Would like to see the Stern Q/A after the virtual tour.

Yep!
Quoted from Mitoska:Yep![quoted image]
Is that without EB's? Either way that's an impressive score!
Quoted from mtp78:Bond pro looks fast and fun
It's fine but when you really take a look at it it's almost like Black Knight 3k empty.

I’ve found usually a week or so he gets the seminars all uploaded. It’s the next best thing besides actually being there.
If my new friend from Germany Till is in here, thank you for putting on a clinic on Bond.
Enjoyed playing with you. I used your example and it worked.
Side note, Bond is a straight banger on .0000031 code
I can’t wait to get one and spend some real time with it.
Quoted from NovaCade:Anybody awake and want to hang out? We are board as hell up in the room
Isn't this how Risky Business starts?
Quoted from PinMonk:Isn't this how Risky Business starts?
hahaha, yes! But full disclosure, I’m not likely not as good looking as Tom Cruise
Quoted from Pablito350:What's the initial feelings on the gameplay for Bond? Any good?
I initially had a deposit on a bond pro and after the show I am not sure I am going to keep it. Seemed kind of lack luster and a little empty. Just my pov
Quoted from Blakester:Does American Pinball have a teaser about their upcoming Nordman pin?
Just simply .... no
Quoted from benheck:It's playable. Locks on ramps very make-able but we couldn't figure out how to released them.
Lite lock letters (LOCK at inlanes/outlanes) to lite 3rd lock
Shoot ball to chamber (upper center grab magnet and popper) or shoot ramp
Is anyone at the show that's from Fargo? I'd love for you to bring back a Whirlwind hardtop.
Please pm me.
The line for Magic Girl never fell below 4 deep. Honesty, it is a fun shooting game and has quite a few "wow" moments. Also, it is stunning in person.
The best part was that I really loved talking to folks while waiting in that line. Their stories, backgrounds and generally friendliness were truly nice to see! Cheers everyone.
Quoted from MrBally:I just heard he is/was in the Hospital.
lol I humped pins with him all day today for an auction next weekend. Just got home
Quoted from spinout:... The best part was that I really loved talking to folks while waiting in that line. Their stories, backgrounds and generally friendliness were truly nice to see! ...
Holy crap! Did you actually get that MacCullough guy to talk to you?!
He's typically so shy and introverted!
Quoted from Pablito350:What's the initial feelings on the gameplay for Bond? Any good?
The code is seems to be kinda glitchy at this point with some scoring bugs. I like that there’s a lot of looping shots, and it seems to play pretty quick, but with the code at the level it’s at now, it has a long way to go.
Thanks to everyone for all the posts! Looks like Magic Girl 2 must be made. Wow! What a cool game and so beautiful.
Quoted from TroyS:Anyone want pictures of anything specific ?? Here now. Here’s a discount!!

Is there a Kingpin remake?
Quoted from Mjesposi:I initially had a deposit on a bond pro and after the show I am not sure I am going to keep it. Seemed kind of lack luster and a little empty. Just my pov
Correct. We spent all day at the show today and 007 Prem is the way to go on this one.
Quoted from Pablito350:What's the initial feelings on the gameplay for Bond? Any good?
I did not like it.
Having spent all day at the show the win was 007’s were on-site, you got the end badge for IC but no game badges. The low was I was expecting mod vendors to be there and also no translite vendors. Tomorrow back for day 2.
Quoted from PinMonk:That functionality is coming in Magic Girl 2.
nah. you need the optional topper to have that feature.

Ha, that's us in that line! Wasn't going to pass up a change to play MG. Eric, Roger & Max did a terrific job getting it flipping properly - was a lot of fun.
We only did a day trip on Friday this year, as last year's Expo was really not that good. Credit to Rob Berk who clearly listened to the feedback, as I would rate this year 100% improved. Some things like a concrete floor and the concessions (meh) are due to the Venue choice, but driving in from downstate, we do like this location better that the old one which was further in the City.
Some random thoughts:
1. Magic Girl - awesome to get a chance to play. I liked it, of course with the line there was not enough time/plays to really dive in;
2. Awesome of Pinball Brothers to bring two Queens and several Aliens. I have an Alien LV on order so was happy to get a chance to play them. The venue made it hard to hear the Queen - it shot nice but software still a work in progress I think;
3. On the other hand, James Bond pro and premium pins both worked and shot great, even at this stage of code. Had the modes working, no glitches, some uneven scoring but all in all - I think it is a winner;
4. Thanks to the distributors and manufacturers who all brought a large selection of pins (especially Tilt Amusements). There were plenty to play and lines (other than Magic Girl) were short. Lots of modern pins, plus a very nice collection of working classics (emphasis working - unlike last year, very few problems and Rob's personnel pins were working well too);
5. Fast had a Fathom 2.0 - A stunning looking machine, no doubt about it. Not sure how I felt about the LCDs in the Apron - maybe just having Deeproot Pinbar flashbacks - but I found it hard to remember to look down at it. Not sure what else you can put that when you are recreating a classic pin though, so it might just take a few more plays to get use to;
6. Weird Al Multimorphic pin - If you are a Weird Al fan - this has it all. Definitely the best so far on this platform;
7. Got to play several other pins we hadn't before (including Hercules with a consensus once was enough) but there did seem to be a few misses (didn't see an Elvira House of Horrors for example - it might have been there but didn't see one). Bought a few items from some vendors, got the requisite t-shirts with the Brian Allen artwork (who was there and we bought one of his prints as well), and talked with Spooky folks, CGC reps, and other industry folks and pinball personalities. Overall a great time.
If we had to make a list of improvements for next year, it would be more for the vendors than Rob (other than concessions - though there was plenty to eat off site in the near vicinity). Stern's carpet felt good underfoot compared to the concrete form, and their space felt well defined and laid out. Recommendation a more polished presentation area if you went to the expense of a getting a booth. These are now $8-$10K and more machines you are trying to sell, I think presentation matters. I think TPF does a better job of this (from looking at reviews - planning on going for the first time this year).
All in all, though, we were impressed with the improvements made and am looking forward to next year's Expo!
While EXPO was very well represented with vendors and games......be very careful of what you wish for. Rob Berk is slowly trying to turn this into MGC South. I don't think that is a bad thing, but do we really need two of the same show? EXPO has always been THE pinball show for the industry. The nice thing this year is you had to cover EVERY sq in to make sure you saw everything. Even the name has now been changed to PINBALL/GAMING EXPO.
Thank you for no rows of garbage that were turned off or barely playable.
