Here are some pictures of a 1966 Chicago Coin Hula Hula that I picked up recently. It appears to be a very original game, with nice cabinet, trim and backglass. The playfield has some wear but I’m sure it will cleanup nicely.

This game must have been very popular in its day and I can see why. The features are very unique and different than other games of the era. The middle kickout hole rewards either an extra turn or an extra game and is tied into the flash score feature for random selection. The light sequence controlled by a motorized continuous stepper under the playfield is reminiscent of Bally Skyrocket and attracts a ton of attention. All of this topped off by score bells that are some of the loudest I’ve heard. This may have been the only pinball Chicago Coin produced that year but boy did they get it right and really flex their know-how. Additionally, it has a lot of game adjustments that I’m not used to seeing. For example, a simple jumper to set playfield strength (high tap) as well as jumpers to turn on or off the bells/knocker.

This is the first CC in my collection and I’m enjoying working on it to shake off the old cobwebs.

Right, it’s just a shoot again (extra turn).

Interestingly, the backglass has the “shoot added ball now” printed on it in the lower left corner.

Quoted from Mopar:

I just finished up a C.C. Bronco.
This is the Add-a-Ball version.
If anyone happens to have the
score card saying when extra balls
are rewarded, A pic would be much
appreciated..

Love the art work on this game! Would love to find one to put next to my Dodge City.

I am beginning work on this 1946 Chicago Coin Goalee. It is complete but will require lots of work to undo all of the previous repair attempts.

I am in need of a P-273 step-up/reset coil as the one on the left scoring stepper is burned up. See ad here: https://pinside.com/pinball/market/classifieds/ad/135595

I may be posting other ads as I get into this project. Any help would be appreciated!

A Big Thanks to aahgo which last month gave me the lead to do a
trading deal, and today I brought this baby home, with the bonus
being, it's the Add-a-Ball version. Thanks aahgo! It's one of 2 or 3
on my wanted list..

Congrats on finding one! I’ve considered a couple times offering mine as a trade on some of the games you’ve posted although it’s not an add-a-ball. But it would be such a tough game to let go of. It’s such a unique game with lots of art appeal. Yours appears to be in great shape!

Quoted from Mopar:

Thanks! I haven't played a Hula Hula yet, but I heard good things
and expect it wouldn't be an easy one to let go..
What machines of mine did you have some interest in?

Coincidentally, both Chicago Coins! Your early 50s CC shuffle alley…I’d like to find a nice original one. I’ve been trying to figure out how to make one fit in the game room. And your Bronco. I’m a sucker for anything western themed.

I think you’ll find the Hula Hula to be quite unique with great gameplay. Seems to me like the CC engineers pulled out all the stops on this one.

Always fun to see your latest projects/pickups.

Got the backglass assembly on the Goalee done and wow does it look good. The backglass itself is original.

And no, there is no filter applied to that photo. The light really is ghosted around the lettering. There is quite a bit of mirroring on this backglass.

Quoted from AlexF:

It's gone. Sometimes that's more of a relief than it being available. Don't need to worry about it now. I liked the the art and the AAB variant.

I know the feeling!

Quoted from ZooDude:

I joined the club! Too bad I've got three machines ahead of this one in the restoration que. Ordering new back glasses and trying to track down the soundtrack now but it'll be a good 6 months before I tear into it
[quoted image]

That’s a very fun game. Congrats!

Quoted from tcw16505:

Hello, I have a Kicker. I have seen the "add a ball" version mentioned here but mine is a standard player. I came hoping to find a schematic. I wanted to review the Normal line and Low line powerfuses were about. I wanted to be certain that these were a one or the other and not both at the same time fuse options. I'm assuming there'd be some sort of notation there on the schematic either way. Plus you can always use a schematic when things go wrong so would you enjoy having one on hand. Thanks so much, Tom
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

It is one or the other. You would only put the fuse in the low line position if the voltage was low. They would have used this if the game was on location with a lot of other operating pinballs on the same circuit.

Another nice Chicago Coin feature. Wouldn't it have been nice if a Gottlieb did this so you wouldn’t have to desolder the lugs?
