To finish up the question regarding playfield glass for the criss cross hockey, I ended up measuring it myself, had someone else verify my measurements, and then ordered the glass. I ordered 22 5/8 x 43 at 3/16 thick and it fits perfectly.

Quoted from izzy:

Working on a Top Ten and have it all dialed in except in goes to game over before player 2 gets it's last ball. Happens in 3 or 5 ball. Checked ball count stepper unit, etc. Me and another EM guy are both stumped. any ideas?
thanks

I randomly (6 or 7 times out of 10) get the same problem with my CC Hollywood. Also works fine in 1 player mode.

And, sorry, no I haven't found the problem yet either.

#203 4 years ago

Just picked up a Hollywood, looks like a fun game. Of course not working, lots of issues one is the score reels wont release manually , seem very sticky? I have one reel with one solder track broken and not looking repairable. The flipper coils have been connected with jumper wires and some hang off, may be needing some help with wiring, I am looking forward to playing my first Chicago Coin and give my Williams some competition.

Nice work!

Thanks Cad-Kid...it's been fun playing this game. I still haven't decided if I'm going to replace the backglass yet. The one I have isn't great, but it isn't horrible. The question is whether it's worth spending around $300 for a replacement.

For now I'm just going to play it and have fun with it.

I will try to remember to get some pictures for you tonight.

thanks LongJohns
Two of my 3 inch score reels are fried, I managed to repair 4 for player one. how do I disable two player mode? at least until I can find parts?
Any ideas

#209 4 years ago

Man, I was in the cc club years ago. First machine was a cc casino. I really miss it and have been trying to find one for years. If anyone sees or hears of one on the east coast, let me know. Love that game!

#210 4 years ago

I don't own one, but I am actually looking for a Big Flipper. I played the heck out of the hi-tapped one at PHOF. Totally simple mined fun. Quite a button-pusher for me.

#211 4 years ago

Anyone have a Sound Stage backglass they would like to sell ?
Thanks

Sorry for the delay here are a couple of pictures (ignore the red lead, that is my "free play" mod ) - let me know if this is good or you need another picture or help as I am fairly familiar with it as I got mine dead and it gave me a lot of grief (but I did learn a lot from it, so I guess it is all good):

I don't think you can disable 2 player mode (at least very easily) as the score reels still have to reset - however you can reset the score reels to 0 (or set the switch to always reset) and then disconnect the advance coil (on each number) so it doesn't try to advance the numbers. You will still be able to play a 2 player game, just always have a score of 0.

What parts do you need? I uploaded the schematic to the data base, but also have the parts manual I can scan in if you need (I got lucky as mine came with the "goodie bag" - even the OEM warrenty card). Pinball resource has had everything I needed for mine and it is much easier to order with the OEM part numbers (I just send an email with the part numbers and go from there).

Hi!! I'm new to the forums and am an owner of a CC jukebox that I purchased in a package deal. The back glass is cracked and am looking for a new one and I can't get the game to start up but I'm sure a deep cleaning will help that. So eti see it will play but no lights come on. When the lights do come on, the motor just spins and the relays on the coin doors open and close. Not sure what's going on there.

Hi
Thanks a lot, I hope to get back at it tonight and fix that switch, I need score reel parts I got 1 fried board and two plastic switches broke(the ones with the fingers on) I have all the second player score reels unplugged and having a hard time sorting out the position for zero on all the first player reels?

Thanks again

#215 4 years ago

I would love the parts manual if not to much work

#216 4 years ago

I now have 4 working score reels player one only, I found the zero position.
I have no working score reels for player two. After manually adding points to the score reels I turn the game on and they reset to zero but the score motor is still running I assume looking for player two score reels to reset which they can not. I have the main connectors off. I am not sure how to do what you recommend but would like to try, what do you mean by (or set the switch to always reset)?
The advance coil you refer to is the coil on each score reel?

Ok, I submitted the parts manual to the Internet Pinball Database, but it is available here (temporary): http://we.tl/WiVQ72s2Hi

You can't unplug the whole score unit, the game needs to "see" the switches - it has to be plugged in. All you can do is reset P2 score to 0 (verify the correct switches (via the wiper arm) are open and/or close as per player 1 0 (zero) setting). Disconnect the score reel coil (page 24, item 9 in the parts manual) that increments the reel (adding score). Note: disconnecting the coil does not prevent player 2 from playing, but it prevents the score reels from turning and should always stay in the rest position (assuming you have set that up).

Of course if the wiper arm (page 24, item 1 in the parts manual) on the reel is broken you will not be able to do this without jumper cables (reset to 0). You will have to figure out what pins are shorted when it is reset to 0 and jumper those out with some alligator clips (or solder some jumper wires on).

Wanted to introduce myself, I own both a '68 Playtime and a' 76 Hollywood machine. I enjoy collecting and restoring CCM machines.

I'm currently just finishing up the restoration on the Playtime, the Hollywood machine on the other hand needs some work. I purchased it from an old oil baron, and it took an unfortunate tumble off of a forklift on the way to the car, and the Backbox and back glass both didn't survive. The scoring reels and mid plane are OK.

Hoping to get some help in getting the Hollywood game back in working order.

Thanks!

Someday I'll own a Playtime just for nostagiac reasons. As kids, we figured out if you could get the three numbered featured at "111" (which scored a replay when the ball drained) -tilt the machine! Get the replay, tilt again, another replay, etc. until you maxed out on replays. When a new game started, the player's score reels rest, but this score feature stayed right where it was (111).

I remember the Op coming in and comparing the play meter to coin and getting pretty ticked. When he was trading this machine out for another, I told him what we were doing. He tried it, shook his head, and thanked me.

This was at the Teen Center on the Air Force Base my dad was stationed at. He asked how we were cheating the GTL Surf Side and CC Gun Smoke at the Airmen's Cafeteria. I told him I didn't know of the Cafeteria, and if they had pinball machines. I was lying. What never made sense to me- Surf Side and Gun Smoke stayed at the Cafeteria for years, even though the Op knew someone/most were cheating - just by the plays vs. coin - yet they didn't replace them. They had 4 machines, but kept replacing the ones we couldn't cheat to win for the 6-7 years I was there.

On the plus side, watching the guys repair the machines here was when I got the bug to own machines. I would tell the techs what was wrong, watch them fix the machines, and learn. Sometimes, this little kid would tell a tech how to repair a machine.

Hi

If anyone has the ability to scan the Hollywood back glass that would be great. I have a buddy who can print on glass transfer, just need the image in high res.

Also looking for game and score cards for Playtime.

Can you stitch it together? I could do mine, but it is not perfect and may need to be touched up.

#223 4 years ago

LongJohns thanks alot
Got it playing one player ok, seems to be working with some minor issues, with no rubbers on it and kind of sluggish it is a great game, thanks for the help. I am going to start cleaning and checking over, keep ya posted.
I cant scan because mine is out getting touched up but I think you can get at a web site?

#224 4 years ago

Ok, here is the link to download the Hollywood BG scans, but you will have to stitch and correct the image (has banding): http://we.tl/fSZ2g3Y3cN

Link good until Jan 21, 2015.

Darn Hollywood.. last score reel rolls over some times (10,000) I do manually from 1000 reel and it rolls over fine? Playing a game it will work for a bit then stop working???
I have checked board, switch, wiring and can't find problem. Would there be any where else I should be looking?

How stiff is the score reel? If the nut on the reel is too tight, it can cause problems. Could also be a bad switch for the 10k coil (switch is on the 1k unit) or a bad connection on the ball count unit.

#227 4 years ago

I have seemed to corrected the score reel issue I backed off the score reel nut
As I moved on I don't get any advance bonus, no lights , the bonus unit stepper was gummy, I cleaned and it seems to be working manually, are the two side by side switches to be open at the zero position?

picture? And can we move this discussion to a new thread in the EM Tech section (or PM) so we are not flooding this one with repair questions?

#229 4 years ago

Elvis has left the building........and so have I.

No longer a member of the CC Pinball Club for now, but you never know as I could end up with a CC Gun Game or Ball Bowler down the road.

#233 4 years ago

Picked up a CC "Super Hockey" and now on the hunt for a decent backglass or someone, who has one, willing to loan theirs to have reproduction one made (yeah mine is that bad that it can't be used)!

#234 4 years ago

Anyone ever have issues with the playfeild lights going on and off during gameplay with the flippers?

#235 4 years ago

Looking for the start up sequence for CC Hollywood, having some issues getting this thing playing.
Thanks

#236 4 years ago

All good

#237 4 years ago
Quoted from GreyScale:

.. CC was way more of a "general" arcade amusement company than their competitors, so their ..etc games qualify for membership.

Everybody hear that? Good. I'm going to hold you to that. One ChiCoin etcetera game coming right up.

My Chicago Coin project is a 1975 Super Flipper like this one...(not to be confused with Big Flipper... or any other game with flippers, for that matter)

superflipper1.jpg

It has a doorbell for chimes just like a real CC pin.

New to the club! Have a Casino that is not running. Here's hoping it's just a fuse!

#239 4 years ago

That's what they say when they are on craigslist..."it's just a fuse"! Ya never know!

I would like to see that super flipper in action. Pretty funky machine!

#240 4 years ago

Guess what, it was just a fuse. Awesome.

I'm entertaining the thought of selling this machine. What is it worth?

per Boston Pinball site it sells on average (7 machines) for $334 ..... big issue is obviously shipping!

count me in. Just picked up a CC Hee Haw from UFO (thanks greatly bud) about a week ago. has been on the back burner because it is in pretty bad shape. Got it started up last night so my vision of parting it out has changed to a possible restoration. needs a lot of work, but it is 'alive' and that's a starting point.

heehaw-bg.jpg

#244 4 years ago

aw shucks. Count me back out. Super Flipper has gone to a new home.

#245 4 years ago

I saw where bgresto has done the backglass for Hee Haw. That would make your restoration a bit easier. I have seen a few NOS playfields for Hee Haw ovr the years tooo. I have a Dolphin and a Riviera that both work well. They are quirky games but are fun to play and tinker with.

#246 4 years ago

yeah I know Steve at bgresto has it. I also need a Bally Wiggler BG. But I can't afford the $220+ shipping per BG yet. once the table is in better shape maybe.
I am on the lookout for a new pf but it's been a few years since one popped up online. I have cleaned the sh!t out of this one but the previous owner really neglected it. right now, I have to wait for parts before I can get this one up and running.

There was an NOS Hee Haw playfield on e-bay for what seemed like years. 75 bucks as I remember. I guess it finally sold.

#248 4 years ago

Yeah. Sold, but not to me unfortunately. I would give the original 175 to get this one looking pretty. Working out the tech issues now but needs a lot of love on the visual aspect. pf is rough to say the least. Tried sanding but dont want to take much off the top. Clearcoat will be neceaaary once game is back in service.
No offence to previous owner, but damn this could have been stored away in a hurricane for 2 years and come out better.

I'm in. Well I've had this Juke Box since the summer, but haven't had the time to work on it. Finally had time and solved the start up issue. Score reel connectors are terrible. Going to try a few things to fix that. Right now the 1000's gets stuck on and keeps burning the etch on the Player Control Unit. I thought I had fixed this a few times already. Guess I really need to pay attention to that. Cleaned up fairly nice. Backglass is flaking but hey, it's still relatively ok. The playfield is not bad at all.
