Hello,

I recently got a Chicago coin casino pinball machine.
When it was given to me it would always blow a fuse.
So i traced it back to the following components.
1 fried 1st player 10 score reels solenoid (replaced via removing the 100 solenoid from player 4)
1 fried 4th player 10 score reels solenoid (removed not yet replaced)
1 fried 0-90 unit solenoid (replaced)
So after that the game will turn on and not blow any fuses.

I set a score of one on all the score reels players 1-4 (minus the 2 that have yet to be replaced they stay on zero)
Feed the machine a quarter
Press the button on the front of the cabinet to start reset

The machine resets all reels to zero and none go past.
The score motor keeps turning.
The old owner told me the machine had a problem on reset but to start a game to pull on the zip tie he attached to the slide bar reset relay.

So after pulling the relay the machine kicks out a ball and the play field seems to work for the most part.
How ever the ball counter does not light up.

Things i have tried to fix the issues.
I removed and cleaned every score reel pcb and wiper contacts with a green pad and final with alcohol wipes.
cleaned the player counter, credit reel, 0-90 unit, ball counter, and some leaf switches on the score motor.

Things of note, the lock relay likes to buzz but all switches are making the right contact. (i need a way to fix this or else my dog will not stop barking hes fine unit it start the buzzing)
The player control relay will buzz but not always kinda just happens.

The 0-90 counter only increments when the yellow pop bumper is hit and from videos i have seen it should move when any 10 point is hit, also every once in a while seems to get out of position i think this is just the set screw i have to adjust.

I have the logic schematic but am having a hard time with it and im getting to the point i think it may not be a switch but a wire. and in this rats nest that is going to be one heck of a task to find....

Good thought posting the schematic because that's what we're going to need to really help you. Unfortunately phone pic schematics generally suffer from 3 problems (blurry, incomplete, and/or in pieces) Yours are blurry. Staples will scan it for $2 or Kinkos will scan it for $7.

You'll need to look at the switches and circuits that send power to the score motor. Find the score motor icon on the schematic and work back through all the switches that send power to the score motor. Make sure those switches are clean and adjusted properly. Either one or more switches are mis-adjusted and they're sending power to the score motor, or a relay coil is energizing at the wrong time...

First check the coin chute switches to make sure they are open. Then make sure the bonus unit is resetting completely. Also, make sure all the score reels are resetting fully to zero...

Here are the switches that send power to the score motor:

Score motor switch A-1 - green wire and grey/black wire
#1 start relay switch - green wire and grey/black wire
Anti-cheat relay switch - green wire and grey/black wire
Ball count relay switch - green wire and grey/black wire
Out hole relay switch - green wire and grey/black wire
Credit reset relay switch - green wire and grey/black wire
Bonus collect relay switch - green wire and grey/black wire
Top hole relay switch - green wire and grey/black wire
25 cent credit relay switch - green wire and grey/black wire
5 cent relay switch - green wire and grey/black wire

Check these "primary" switches to make sure they are clean and adjusted properly.

Not a bad schematic photo. It might be good enough to fix these problems...
First things first. Assuming you mean "bank" instead of "bar" in "slide bar reset relay", here's the circuit to diagnose. Probably the problem is that one of the score reel "0" position switches is out of adjustment or dirty.

Okay so well i went back over all 16 score reels and did a continuity test and found the following
1 leg was not making any contact with the PCB for the zero position
1 pcb has a small fracture in the trace that was fixed temporarily with a conductive ink will be soldered soon.

Now the reset completes. major issue found and solved thanks

Second issue of he 0-90 counter not moving when hitting a 10 point was a dirty leaf switch in the 10 unit relay assembly.

The current ball illumination seems to be working now. did nothing here...

New issues

player 2 10 point score reel wont increment for points but will on reset. (added a bridge wire to the common on the score reel next to it and it functions normally for play and reset ?broken wire?)

After playing it for about 30min in 4 player mode i finished the round got the game over and hit the rest then the score reels all moved a few times then stopped and got stuck in the reset.
Found the issues but i just dont believe it.
The plastic holders for the leaf switchs broke for both the reset relays.
Just how....

So close to being down with this machine and then this...
Any one ever see a machine do this?
