The knocker

Quoted from Hrvat9:

Your knocker’s been cut out, like most of them. I am suspecting that the knocker was causing the transistor to blow or something since it’s so common in DEs

Thanks guys!
Also Changing my speakers To some pyles I found today for cheap

Can anyone show what their screen does during gameplay or after a game? Sometimes in gameplay there is just a black/blank dmd..thx

#407 4 years ago

Mine is off center also. Could have sworn someone posted in this thread a solution with some wood to fix it .

try tightening the hinge screws on the light board.

#410 4 years ago

Thx I’ll try that

#411 4 years ago

r95 didn't fix my dmd....it seems to work most of the time, but the spinning data east logo at startup looks messed up and sometimes there is nothing on the dmd during play.

All of the power supplies usually look like that. They were so crappy. Get a rottendog see if that fixes it. The high voltage section is probably going bad. Someone could rebuild it for you too

#415 4 years ago
Quoted from joelw23:

[quoted image][quoted image]

Do you have the ability to re-burn your game & display ROMs or have anyone nearby?

#416 4 years ago

looking in to rebuilding it.....

i don't know anyone around me that can reburn the game and display roms....

Can anyone show me these two things?

1. How is your spin and win column mounted?
2. Is there supposed to be an orange plastic bumper piece here where the white rubber is, like the opposite side ? The ball gets stuck here sometimes

Okay where did you all get those great air ball deflectors? I really could use one

#422 4 years ago

Not sure what you mean ....

#423 4 years ago
Quoted from MJW:

Are you referring to the piece of metal ? Came with game. You could prob bend a piece of metal and drill holes. Not sure if they are avail. Possibly Try Bay Area amusements.

Quoted from Isochronic_Frost:

My machine did not come with one either. Go back one page in this forum to page 8 and you can see how I built one super fast and easy to replace it.

#425 4 years ago

So I changed my speakers and still only the right side is loud/works properly. Left speaker in adjustments menu is super low And the in cab speaker is pretty much not working at all. On the sound board, the top heatsink/amp is Scorching hot, it will burn your finger. Caps look new but I’ll change them anyways. I saw here that you should recap the power supply also so I’ll do that too. should that amp be replaced on the sound board?

Am I missing that big transistor and a resistor at Q1 and R19?

#427 4 years ago
Quoted from Hrvat9:

No that board was used for several games. It was meant to be modular, they could use as much or as little as needed

#428 4 years ago
Quoted from Isochronic_Frost:

I had always heard they were missing because ops would just cut them out and use them when they needed another coil for something.

Nice example of how the spinner block mounts, and also the centre drops/air ball deflector/cresent shaped plastic.

I replaced the left flipper coil because the sleeve was seized inside the coil (found out during a rebuild). Now when I press the right flipper button, both the flippers move together and very weak , but if I press the left flipper button the left side moves only. What did I do wrong?

Also my vuk Eject stopped working , is the coil supposed to be energized always until the ball sinks and hits the switch? (Someone taped up a diff switch to the rail, switch registers when I press it)

Thanks for your patience on the Checkpoint ramps, everyone. I have some major home projects I am getting close to wrapping up soon, and will get back on this one shortly. I am hoping to make the ramp screw holes a bit more turnkey on the finished product before I start running them.

Does anyone have a scan of the center plastic? Mine is 90% gone. If anyone is willing to scan it at 600dpi on a flatbed scanner, I would be appreciate. I've attached a pic of the plastic that I need. Thanks.

I don't have a scan, but need to move the boxes that my spares are in tonight. I'll try dig it out.

I could use one of those too!!

#441 4 years ago

I'm going to try to make a longer deflector for the center drops out of lexan/plexi. The original metal one still doesn't work very well.

#442 4 years ago

Anyone have any idea why my flippers are both working when I press the left flipper button? Or why the vuk eject doesn’t work? I can’t figure it out

#443 4 years ago

I got caught up in painting my garage floor and so my box of bits with the plastic is still untouched. Will get to it this week.

New to the club, just finally acquired a Checkpoint after patiently holding out for about 3 years. I played one at Allentown Pinfest last year, that was pretty beat up, so it was nice to find a nicer example of the game. I love the Porsche theme and the overall look and playability of the game. Looking for some help on a couple things...

1) Plastic #34(in pic)on my game is banged up. Wondering if any of you might have a nice one you’d be willing to part with?

2) My DMD is missing some bars/pixels on the upper right. Can this be fixed or is this screen ready to be replaced?

Thank you for any help

My dmd problem was covered in the online repair guide for data east.
They do make replacements dmds in that size.

Fun game, loved the choice of music and winners circle.
To me it was all about the ramp. I couldn't find a decent one to replace the repaired original....
Stepped up to Nascar.

Pinsider finally doing a run of Ramps is great news to current owners.

Unfortunately it wasn't where I thought it was. I had other CP plastics there, but not the centre piece. Really bummed as I know I have it somewhere. Will keep looking!

I have sent out a couple ramps to be installed on Pinsiders machines. I have one more to send out and then will be running the rest. I can check for you, but delivery to Australia bay be fairly salty. I know that due to dimensional weight charges UPS and Fedex xharge here in the states now, its $50-$60 just to ship them from the east coast to the west coast of the US. This will will most likely preclude me from doing more of the larger ramps in the future.
