Quoted from nvu4prod:

A Fellow Pinsider made a custom 3 bank shield to prevent airballs a few years back. He had a few spares that he was selling. I bought one and it solved the airball issue and the design goes quite with the playfield art. Maybe he'll chime in after this post.

Nicely done. By the picture it looks flat unlike the metal, am I correct in what I’m seeing? If so that would be a pretty easy fix with some lexan.

You are correct, it has flat overhang. Think Lexan would be the proper fix.

Added the two white rubbers and that has seemed to help quit a bit. Still some random airballs...but none have smacked the glass...yet. Thanks for all the tips.

Thanks for reporting back and glad you minimized the air balls.

A Checkpoint just sold on Bring a Trailer for $11,500, which is crazy! I'm kind of surprised that a pinball machine was listed on BaT. Lots of comments too. I haven't had the chance to read them all, but it looks like the designer, Joe Kaminkow made an appearance in the comment thread.

Here's a link to the listing:

I got mine for $4500 4 months ago and it looks to be in similar condition as that one, and I saw one 2 weeks ago selling for $3500.

Recently exited the club. Absolutely love the art of this machine, and once I put in a new ramp and LEDs it was very nice to look at. I did have the typical PF wear and it ate at me a bit. Ultimately, I sold it to free up a spot in the lineup and the gameplay didn't make the cut compared to my other machines, also because I realized this machine didn't satisfy my appetite to own a 911

I have the following leftover parts for sale, can provide pics upon request:

-Original Ramp - $100 + shipping - Overall in good condition, did have a crack at the end that was repaired. 100% functional.

-Real Porsche Emblem - $75 shipped - Was going to mount this either on the coin door or on a cup holder. I have a 3D printed cup holder I could throw in if you want to do that.

-Original Power Board - $TBD (make an offer) - It has a hack done at CN8 which I believe is fixable, otherwise board is good.

I just looked through the photos on your listing. That's interesting seeing the slingshot plastics from High Speed on a Checkpoint. I never thought about doing that. It works pretty well.

Good luck with your sale!

Well I just had my best game ever on Checkpoint. Previously, my high scores were in the low 20 millions. I just set a new high score of 41,088,370!!!

IMG_20231009_234912756 (resized).jpgIMG_20231009_234912756 (resized).jpg

3x multiballs, 1 great fast scoring, and 2x 10 million point shots! This was the first time I ever lit the 10 million point shot, and I did it twice! I also set a new loop record at 19.

It was a crazy game. I'm still in shock and keep looking at the score in disbelief. Haha

Posting my auto launcher conversion for anyone to use as reference. I can post part numbers if it helps anyone who also wants to change the auto launch assembly. Auto launch works perfectly and plunger works great as well. there is minimal modifications required for this retrofit. Note, I haven't begun cleaning this Checkpoint yet.

You should post the info/part numbers so that it can help other owners down the road. I’m glad you came up with a solution. It looks much more reliable!

I replaced my Turboboost kicker some years ago. Action Pinball was the source for most parts and directions.

metalkatt

looks like I simply ordered the auto plunger assembly and a coil and was good to go. I did have to modify the apron by cutting off one side where the ball rests, I turned the shooterlane switch 180`, also cut off part of the auto plunger mount so it wouldn't sit past the edge of the playfield, and of course relocate the coil mount.

Parts:

here are the photos of what I cut off the apron to fit the new auto plunger. I happen to have 2 aprons, so its a nice side by side.

Many folks in this thread have highlighted how we dont have a good replacement for the fluorescent style drop targets. Happy to say that ClassicArcades has produced NEW targets which closely match the originals. I also created a post about this recently. Message him and pick some up ASAP as they are the only true targets available on the market, nobody else has these

Has anyone found a replacement for the original "Ultimate" sticker on the flippers?
