I didn't realize this was a new recall. I'm on the list this time around.

Can anyone recommend a new dehumidifier with a gravity drain port (I already have a pump). I don't want to wait for a replacement.

Many thanks to the OP for bringing this to my attention.

Shipping notification received today for my 70pt replacement. 37 days after I submitted the form. Not bad.

My replacement 70 pint arrived yesterday. I've been running it without my drain pump just so I could use the bucket to get a sense of how effective it is at pulling water out of the air.

So far, pretty good. Certainly works well and is quieter than the old dirty model it replaced. I have yet to determine the accuracy of the humidity sensor, as that will probably take a few days of use.

I wonder how long it will be before they recall this one, too...

Mine (70pint) has been powered on for the last 11 months according to my post saying I received it. It's a little bit louder than it was when it was new, but still quieter than the old one. It keeps the basement dry. I'm happy with it.

Quoted from ralphs007:

Is running the AC just as good as running a dehumidifier? My game is going on my first floor, and not in a basement.

Depends what the regional climate is like and the general humidity in your home. If you live where there are cool but humid days where you have the windows open (or it's not hot enough for the AC to kick on), that probably isn't ideal. I'm thinking Florida, or most anywhere coastal, but personally I would spend $20 on an indoor temperature/humidity sensor just to keep an eye on it.

My guess though is that it's probably fine.
