    Quoted from turbo20lbs:

I didn't read this whole thread, but I wouldn't mess around with Joey too much. On the phone he sounds like a mobster hitman, like straight outta the Soprano's. He has "guys" around the country who will pick up your machine and pay cash, as he did with one of mine. He's a standup guy no doubt, but certainly wouldn't want to owe him anything lol.

When a person from Illinois is writing about JoeyItaliano as a mobster from Fl. I sure listen...

    Quoted from sparky672:

Either way, it doesn't matter at this point. Taking the information posted here at face value, Wally16 admitted several times in writing that he owes $6,000 to JoeyItaliano. Then after waiting months, Wally subsequently provides Joey with a photo of a $6,000 cashier's check that never materialized and a tracking number that does not track anywhere. <- It all boils down to this, and it looks really bad for Wally.
There are serious issues here... in my opinion, the criminal fraud boxes are checked for possibly wire fraud, mail fraud, etc. JoeyItaliano, have you contacted a the authorities yet?

Not defending the seller.. they just need to settle the outstanding $ obviously...

But you say "Then after waiting months"... to me, Everything was reset when the Playboy was on the table.. so the only date to work from is the Cheque is in the mail. This was on January 9th, so it has not yet been a month technically..

Clearly, both the buyer and seller need to agree to binding pinside arbitration.. so let's hear the full story from both sides.

    Quoted from rod90:

Paypal is an escrow service. Look how good that works.

Exactly.. go ahead and sell your pins on Paypal.. It's great in theory, until all of a sudden, you deliver the product and the buyer screws you out of payment with a CC chargeback or claims it was damaged or who knows what.

This is old news, but the buyer takes on 100% of the risk for any remote transaction. Don't like it.. then cash on the glass.

    Quoted from Monk:

Also, does it change the fact that Wally16 owed Joey $6,000 and dragged his feet repaying him? I still have not seen a side to the story that would warrant such a delayed payment.

I don't care enough to plug all of the interactions into a timeline.. but my takeaway was that Wally was pending some time to make sure that the check cleared and $ were out. After that, The timeout was reset when Joey offered to buy the listed 6k Playboy... the offer declined, and it seemed like the check was mailed out shortly after that.

    Quoted from Oscope:

Summary to maybe save some folks a lot of time:
Joey was wronged but finally got his $6k back - really needs to learn how to summarize using bullets and salient facts when posting
Wally finally did the right thing after a lot of drama - but at great expense to his reputation. Most reasonable people would have to be concerned about his behavior and doing business with him
In the end this is a sad story of how simple things can quickly devolve and why so many people only deal cash on the glass

This is pretty misleading. The check was in fact in the mail prior to Joey making this post.

Apparently giving someone an extra $5 is an old fashioned bird.

    Quoted from JoeyItaliano:

The Check went into the mail AFTER the post BECAUSE of the post.

Must have missed that page of extra large screenshots. I thought there was some kind of delay in the mail?

Whatever, I definitely don't think this post pressured the seller into anything.
